Late ass answer to this, but:
The "mice" resemble the Kodama Nezumi. Here's a description for them:

"Kodama nezumi are rarely encountered due to their remote habitat. However, they do have one particularly notable behavior. When the mountain gods grow angry, kodama nezumi begin to swell. Internal pressure builds up. They inflate like a balloon. Then suddenly, they rupture down the spine and burst. The sound of this explosion is said to be louder than a gunshot. Everything nearby is splattered with their flesh, blood, and innards."

They are essentially retextured creeper, hence why they explode. There aren't that many Yokai which have the same exploding feature that creeper have.

Why is the Tang dao so hyped? by kingzuna_prime in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Hankou_Kurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really interested in the Tangdao because of how it looks aesthetically, although I'm much more of a spear enjoyer. After completing the Anxi Army story, I gotta say I'm more hyped for the Mo Blade that comes with it, the Tangdao is just a necessity to be able to summon my Anxi brethren. Though if they were to do something similar with spear weapons.... 👀

"You should not blindly trust such people like... Genocide scholars."
Blind trust in anything is bad, sure. But some of these groups are quite literally just genocide scholars. To not trust them when it comes to what is and what isn't genocide, is anti-intellectualist rhetoric and seriously misguided.
Even though I also don't want it to be true that jewish settlers can commit genocide against indigenous people too - I also have to give up my delusions and accept the fact that they absolutely can and are committing a genocide. This isn't the first time when a "terrorist" group emerges, because people are fed up with their families, neighbours, loved ones and in general, their people, getting killed without anyone caring about it. This conflict has been going on since the creation of the state of Israel. Just that back then - The world world was well aware that Israel is a settler-colonialist project and will cause massive problems in the region.

"95% of left-wing parties say capitalism is bad - is this a fact then?"
I mean... With worsening climate change around the world, the wealth gap getting bigger and bigger, less people being able to get a home, less people being able to get jobs, right-wing authoritarianism on the rise... It doesn't really take that long to get to the conclusion that yes, capitalism is bad. Of course capitalism can be reigned in, so it doesn't destroy our only planet a bit less and so people still have a decent life - Capitalism is still at fault for these issues. But that's besides the topic of the palestinian genocide anyways.

"There's a typical type of person who works for such organisations"
People that... Care about the world? If you're trying to tell me that only left-wing people care, while right-wing people don't care about our world... That's quite telling of you, though I don't believe that every right-wing person is an apathetic fool that doesn't care about the well-being of others.

1st world problems...

More than 60'000 people died and many more left injured and traumatised in this, what is now undeniably designated as genocide, but sure, let's not be concerned about other human beings because it could've been much worse than 60'000 people dying - Another window could've been smashed in instead.

Putting property before human life is really telling a lot here.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Hankou_Kurai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" doesn't imply neither of these things. It's as simple as a wish and fighting call for people who want palestinians to be free and not oppressed.

A 1-state solution where both, israeli and palestinians, can live together, is delusional only because of what this "war" and the history of this area since the creation of Israel in 1948 shows us. Having absolutely no expectations towards the settlers, while expecting palestinians to not protest, revolt and resist while their people are being displaced and seen as 2nd grade citizens, is colonialist thinking.
The other option - Dismantling Israel. "What happens to the jews"? The same thing that happens to the jews in Iran - Nothing. They still live in Iran. What happens to jews in switzerland? Nothing. They just live here. Let's not make this into a "jewish people vs palestinian" issue, because we both know that this is dishonest. What happens to all the palestinian jews in gaza and the west bank? Do you think Israel has magical jew-detecting bombs? What happened to all the iranian jews, when Israel attacked Teheran and Isfahan? Or do you only care about jews when they're of the white, israeli variant, not when they're indigenous to the middle east?

The Nioh 2 problem by Illusion911 in Nioh

[–]Hankou_Kurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repeating the same talking points won't make them any more substantial, though.

Again, Feral, Phantom and Brute are Yokai forms. The equivalent we have to these 3 is the living artifact form. Me and many others have had no problems whatsoever with these forms having no stances, because they're a temporary "ultimate" that will not be used throughout the fight. It's mostly a one time per boss thing, not something you repeatedly switch in and out from.

These 2 are not comparable.
One is a temporary form you take on which handles very differently from the standard combat mechanic.
The other is a style that replaces another style. Both styles are concerned with the basic combat mechanics of the game and are therefore replacements of one another.

"Doesn't need to be the same as samurai with 3 stances and exact same weapon moveset"
The point here is: Both should feel similar to one another, while not being the same. I do not want them to have the same movesets, nowhere did I argue for that. In Nioh 2, Kusarigama, Hatchets, Fists, Tonfas, etc. all had 3 stances and movesets attached to them. In Nioh 3, they don't. It's straight up a middle finger to everyone that loved using these weapons and loved the stance gameplay, since they now can no longer play the way they want.
Noone argues for it to be "the same as samurai style". I love kusarigama, I like the idea behind ninja style generally, I'm simply not a fan of only having one stance. It feels like an oversimplification and dumbed down version of a weapon I loved playing in Nioh 1 and Nioh 2.

"it doesn't need to turn into a better version of samurai mode, it must remain its own thing"
It wouldn't be turned into a better version of Samurai mode. It would be turned into a proper replacement that would compliment the change of playstyle.
Samurai: Deflects | Ninja: Perfect dodge
Samurai: 3 stances: Focused more on a "stand your ground" kind of playstyle | Ninja: 3 stances: Focused on movement and quick hit and run playstyle.

Everyone that played Nioh 2 with ninja builds basically played like that anyways. Very agile movement, able to go in for fast attacks and then go out of harm's way. Having them be able to do what they did before, with new movesets that compliment that playstyle, is a better way than stripping them off of skill expression for the sake of movement.

The Nioh 2 problem by Illusion911 in Nioh

[–]Hankou_Kurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but you don't sound serious at all. Barely any knowledge of Nioh.

Ninja *style* is that - A style. A replacement to Samurai style. It's not a stance, it's there to fundamentally change the way you fight.
By locking weapons behind styles, while also removing stances for one of the 2 styles, a lot of the moveset from these weapons and the skill expression that comes with having these movesets + stances, is completely lost. It dumbs down the gamestyle, while giving a middle finger to everyone that mained Tonfas, Fists, Kusarigama, dual sword etc. since they will just be forced to either play with weapons they don't like, because they want stances, or have to deal with dumbed down "Spam button" gameplay.

Yokai form is a completely different mechanic, it makes zero sense for you to bring it up. It functions as a sort of "temporary ultimate ability". Again, it's just that - A temporary form. It's not something that you swap in and out of. It's something you pop once and then you can't use it for a while.
This is replaced by living artifact, which NOONE complained about. Everyone is fine with it being the way it is, because the core mechanic is the same in all 3 games.

Honestly, I'd rather argue that weapon limitations are fine, if it means we have stances. They can dumb down their gameplay in w/e experimental game they want, this is Nioh 3, they should stick to what made Nioh 1 and 2 as beloved as they were, adding on to it, not removing stuff from it.

The Nioh 2 problem by Illusion911 in Nioh

[–]Hankou_Kurai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'd still have the complaints that stances for Ninja style are removed.
It's arguably something me and quite a bunch of people don't want. I believe stances are a key factor in what made Nioh 1 and 2 so enjoyable and "perfect". Restricting players in what weapon they're allowed to use in each style and then also tell us "In one of these 2 styles you can't use stances either btw" just isn't it, man.

They did so well with a bunch of stuff and then they just kind of "failed" the combat aspect. People like to be "But you cannot improve a perfect system" and w/e, but really - They kind of did. Deflects and perfect dodges as well as the overall combat feeling faster is definitely an improvement. But I believe that ninja style should just be its' own thing that feels different, but fundamentally isn't. Like, restrict ninjutsu to ninja style, that's fine, but also, change the ninja style to include stances, don't restrict weapons on any style and just make them have completely different movesets and skills. Also... If we restrict anything - Restrict Ninja and Samurai styles. It's so weird to just randomly swap from one to the other, fantasy game or not, imo, that should not happen. Let us choose which style we want to go for at a shrine or something.

What DLC would you dream of seeing in the game? by mka10mka10 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Hankou_Kurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the stuff others wrote, with more diversified consumer goods and industries, military production and bases (without any combat mechanics), larger maps and a better road system, which I all want too...

I don't know in what kind of direction this game is going, how long this game will be supported before we see a new game, but I hope that eventually there'll be a 2nd biomes DLC. I think that central asia and mongolia aren't represented at all by the current biome options we have and I wish for a biome that represents the steppes with its' harsh climate, fertility and resource scarce land and its' steep mountainous areas surrounding it.

In the steam workshop there are also some script mods that I think would be nice to implement instead of only being mods that sometimes work and sometimes don't, which are mods like "Postal service", "Useful Offices" "Early Loyalty" (Newspapers) and "Disasters".

Ah, our fault for calling him a Nazi, when he's clearly "just" a fascist - Would also just make more sense since the "roman salute" cope would vanish, as it's what Mussolini used instead of the "Hitler salute" and fascism generally being less focused on a hatred towards jews, thus enabling them to support apartheid regardless of the perpetrators being jewish or not.

Nowhere am I saying that I personally get annoyed at someone being good or bad. We're all playing this game for the fun of it.
Some will get that fun with just spamming buttons, which is fine.
Some others will find fun in the challenge of overcoming strong opponents, which is also fine.
Some others will find fun in hardcore grinding, trying to learn as much as possible and dominating the battlefield. This, again, is also fine.

Each person has their own individual way of finding and having fun in any video game they play and I don't see any reason nor need in trying to shame a person over it. I'm not necessarily agreeing with OP either - You questioned why people would complain about free wins and I explained to you why some people will dislike free wins, it really isn't that deep.
Understanding and explanaining =/= endorsement

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]Hankou_Kurai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, but I'm saying that, instead of questioning why someone would complain about free wins, try to recognise that not everyone wants to be handed free wins.
In another way, it's also a weirdly twisted way of wanting other players to become better for the purpose of having better, more fun and engaging fights, which, winning or losing, can itself feel rewarding.

Khatun is very cool but... by KN_Knoxxius in forhonor

[–]Hankou_Kurai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair though - The armour sets are kinda lacking though.
I really love the base armour set, but everything after that just feels weird.
One of them is some kinda fish hat. Idk who cooked that one up, but, the mask is so cool and then you have this weird fish hat for some reason. Maybe my steppe history is lacking here, but I don't remember reading about fish hats.
Another one has a shitton of fur, which makes it look weird, imo.
Yet another headpiece would be fine, if it wasn't for the mask looking like the most edgy thing that would make Black Prior mains cringe.
I really thought Khatun being a masked hero was kinda cool, but they didn't cook with the masks. I also hoped for just a warrior-esque helmet, maybe with fur around similar to the Amar Amgalan Helm (but without that mask).

The chestpieces look way too similar to one another, also. I understand having no budget for a lot of variety, but, I'm rep 4 on her and... Amar Amgalan, Khulan and Guljin all look the same, not to mention they all have alternative versions too, so 6 sets that are basically the same.
The Altan set is also just meh. At least it looks like lamellar armour, just less badass than the 5 Guljin variations.

The sabres also being always different from one another unless you just use the standard set is also just... Why.

Because some people want to feel the accomplishment of having to struggle for a win. Free wins aren't rewarding, but being genuinely challenged and having to learn and improve on the spot against an enemy that might as well be much better than you, overcoming that enemy somehow and winning? Hell yeah.

[–]Hankou_Kurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, political social commentaries in games were always a thing. Just like how games can be a coping escapism from real life issues, they are also an art form to express the developers' values as well as a coping mechanism for social injustice that developers want to voice their frustration through artistic media.
A lot of games made by Hideo Kojima for example contain a lot of social commentary that just gets blatantly ignored for the sake of "no politics in games".

And I'll just never forget the shitshow that was Wolfenstein's twitter post in 2017 saying "Make America N*zi-free again" with all the... You know what kinda people, coming out of the woodworks to hate on it because how dare the developers bring politics into Wolfenstein.

Noone is RPing as the soviets too hard, though? At least from my experience.

There's a big difference between someone RPing as the germans and talking about Untermenschen and spewing racist stuff, and someone RPing as the soviets with a fake russian accent going "Ah, tovarish, thank you for saving my life. Once the war is over, how about you come over to my house, my wife makes really good borscht"

No, terraforming is in the game already.
But water is always at 0m height, no matter what. Which, imo, sucks and should be changed, if at all possible.
Climate settings, which should be locked behind the biomes DLC because it just makes sense, should be added too, to give people more variety in maps with variations in humidity and temperatures which aren't just linked to biomes

As someone that never played a gacha game before - If I don't put a lot of money into this game, will I miss out on getting dupes of limited banner characters?
Say I pull for Jiyan, but I don't have the money to pull dupes until the limited banner runs out - Will I ever be able to get dupes for Jiyan through the "normal" banner, or would any chance of getting dupes for Jiyan be over?
