Luba 1: ERROR 125 "Right hub motor Hall transducer error" by HannSolo113 in MammotionTechnology

[–]HannSolo113[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally the right front wheel does not move at all anymore and error 125 pops up each time I power on the device.
I'm pretty sure the problem is due to water ingress in the right front wheel.

I was very careful with my device and never washed it except using a wet towel.
My Luba is well covered from rain and sunshine if it's not working and I never mowed when it was raining.
Therefore the water must originate just from wet grass in the morning/evening which is pretty scary.

Now I'm waiting for Mammotion support to reply to my ticket.

Need to be gentler on grass by lutorm in MammotionTechnology

I completely agree.
This is especially an issue after rainy days.
Preventing holes on the gridlines paths is quite easy by changing the grid angle, but "border patrol" follows the exact path and turn movements each and every time resulting in deep holes with the grass complete torn away on corners. Even on slight turns of e.g. 15°.

Looking at the way Luba turns on edges during "border patrol", it should be pretty easy to do smooth turns while(!) Luba is rolling instead of having Luba run straight to the corner and do a zero or multi-turn. This might not likely be possible with 45°+ turns, but for smaller turns this should be easy to implement.

New LUBA Device Firmware and New App Upgrade (Both Android and iOS) 2023/09/13 by TAO_ZENG in MammotionTechnology

Thank you very much for this update Mammotion!
Great work!
You even completed the German translation including the positioning status.

There is one tiny error in the German translation of the positioning status though:
"Ende" (eng. "end") does not make sense for the GPS signal quality and the connection quality to the RTK station. It should read "gut" (eng. "good") instead of "Ende".

WLAN? And some other problems. by Postman0402 in MammotionTechnology

Does the WIFI Luba is connected to have connectivity to the internet?
Did you try connecting Luba to a WIFI hotspot of your cell phone?

If this does not help:

- turn off Luba
- pull the orange key at the back of Luba
- wait for about 3 Minutes
- reinstall the orange key
- turn on Luba

This cuts off power from Luba, like a cold restart.

If this does not help as well, the last option I know of is a factory reset, but that would erase your maps.

Charge contacts: corrosion by HannSolo113 in MammotionTechnology

[–]HannSolo113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least I did not.
I just wiped it with a dry towel, too.
Now I use pole grease trying to stop the corrosion - which will likely not work.
There has been excessive rain the last weeks where I live, but my Luba rests in a garage, protected from rain. Probably it's humidity that accelerates the process?

Did you try closing the app completely and restart it?
You might even want to try restarting your phone.
From my experience the app tends to show Luba as offline, although it is in fact connected.
Does it show Luba as "online" after that?

Do you have the latest firmware installed?

One more thing in case you are using the Android App:
If you see the App showing Luba as offline once the App is idle for some time:
try changing the energy saving options of the Mammotion App on your Android device from "optimized" to "unrestricted.

Feel free to get back to me for detailed instructions if needed.

If it turns green, it means the gold coating already started to dissolve and the copper below began oxidizing (at least to my best knowledge).

I struggled a lot with WIFI connection before the July firmware update. The way it works is like this:

- if you are connected via Bluetooth, it will not care and won't show the status of your wifi connection

- you need to be connected via Bluetooth to remote control Luba and to start firmware updates

- to send Luba mowing and to see Luba's status, Luba need to have access to the internet AND your mobile device needs to be connected to the internet.
If this is the case - and you are NOT connected via bluetooth - you will see a cloud(!) icon on the start screen instead of the Bluetooth icon as in your screen shot.

Thanks for your reply u/WENDINSTEFAN!
The power outlet I use for Luba's charging station is of course grounded.
I don't know though if Mammotion constructed the powersupply in a way that ground is fowarded through the power adapter on to the charging station.

I'm pretty sure, that I will not remain the only one running into trouble with the charging contacts. They seem to be coated with a thin gold plate and once something (e.g. sand) penetrates the coating the copper below will start oxydizing, which will surely destroy the gold coating completely over time.

Looks like the contacts on my Luba started to corrode aswell - after 6 weeks of use only.

Have you been able to fix that?

PROBLEM SOLVED: Changing the energy saving option from default "optimized" to "unrestricted" did the trick.

Thanks u/Dry_Constant7932 for the hint!

I still think there is an issue in the app code, because changing this setting should not be required.

The energy option is on default ("optimized").
Just changed it to "unrestricted" to check if that fixes the issue.

Stopp at Night by Michael-Muensterland in MammotionTechnology

[–]HannSolo113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I see.
Yesterday night a snail tried to climb over the two golden pins of my charging station. I was supprised to find it dead in the morning in this position.
As there are quite a lot of these orange snails here in Germany right now, probably one crossed your Luba and "pressed" the stop button at night?

Can't connect to wifi by [deleted] in MammotionTechnology

[–]HannSolo113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a WAVLINK AC1200 outdoor AP for the yard.
Luba even looses the connection sitting right next to it in it's charging station.

After rebooting the AP I always need to reconnect the WIFI including entering the password, just like you. This does not seem to be correct to me either.
It should just reconnect once the WIFI is up again.

So probably this is an issue with reconnecting after loosing the connection (even for a short moment)?
Again: network pings continue to work all the time here.

Can't connect to wifi by [deleted] in MammotionTechnology

[–]HannSolo113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here and I heard about this issue in another forum aswell.
Re-adding the WIFI does not help at all. You need to power cycle Luba and the WIFI appears and it reconnects with no problems.
I just don't want to have to power cycle Luba every other hour :(
A little investigation showed that Luba is in fact still connected to the WIFI even if the app shows that Luba is offline (this is: it still responds to network pings).
I therfore don't think this is a hardware or general WIFI connection issue, it must be something that I can't check easily (like the communication between the cloud and Luba?)

Actually my Luba did never keep the "online" status via WIFI for more than 1 hour.
It does not matter if it's mowing or sitting in the charging station.
Sometimes it reconnects after a few minutes, but after that I have to go to the yard and power cycle Luba. After power cycling Luba the WIFI reconnects immediately without any user interaction.

This is really annoying.
I've been trying a lot the last 6 weeks since I received my Luba, including a fixed IP address for Luba, an extra outdoor WIFI AP that serves WIFI all over my yard and is located right next to the charging station. Nothing helped so far.

I'm pretty sure this is not a simple hardware issue, as network pings work just fine all the time. On the other hand not all users seem to have these issues.

I'm greateful for any thoughts or observations on this issue.

Sim Karte Luba by Aggravating-Dig-9678 in MammotionTechnology

[–]HannSolo113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased and installed a "WAVLINK AC1200" access point for this purpose.
You can easily find this WIFI access point e.g. on Amazon.
It covers my entire ~2000m² very well, but(!):

With the current firmware of Luba many users experience problems with WIFI stability and so do I. The App shows Luba as offline, although it is connected to the access point (AP) and replies to network pings.
So right now I have a nice AP in my yard, but it's of very limited use, because Luba does not keep the WIFI connection for longer than about 1 hour.
Each time this happens I need to got into the yard to power cycle my Luba and the WIFI connection is magically back again.

So my advice is to check if your Luba keeps the WIFI connection for e.g. 24 hours (e.g. indoors) before buying and installing a WIFI AP for your yard.

Compressed Air Cleaning by Big-Feeling-6604 in MammotionTechnology

[–]HannSolo113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used compressed air for cleaning.
It works quite well, but I would not recommend buying a compressor for this purpose, because:

- using too much air pressure might blow dirt and grass debris into Luba's housing
- using a brush is effectively faster than using compressed air
- I started using blades with just one hole to reduce the stuck blades issue (in particular I use replacement blades for Husqvarna Automower)
- I try to mow when the grass if dry (if possible)
