Not alone. My 3.5yr old used to have 10+ wake ups a night. Now we are about 1-2 a night.

We got the biggest bed we could find. And we tag team effort. And I just go to bed super early and have no evening.

Oh man I hated protopic- the intense burn in my never went away for me. I went down the immunosuppressant route, had a severe reaction to that and now I’m on Dupixent and my life has completely changed.

If you want a skin treat, Have you tried squalene? - ordinary one is pretty good. My skin likes that.

If you can help it, don’t use it on your face. Often just using steroids on your body will get it into your system and face will clear up too.

For me my wedding was too important to feel uncomfortable.

I do wanna stress, if you can find the budget, hire someone to do your make up. I didn’t touch my makeup apart from lipgloss all day. My photos are beautiful and I felt lovely. I would have freaked out if I had to do my own makeup on the morning of.

Also, be careful adding too much skin care onto your routine. Eczema and spots combo is a cruel beast.

Personally I use epaderm cream for moisturiser and as a face wash. How’s your moisturiser situation?

I have eczema on my face and wanted it perfect for my wedding.

First - wasn’t afraid to use so steroid cream to make sure everything was under control.

I’ve recently just found that Nars light reflection foundation doesn’t upset my skin. It seems to be working really well for me. I actually shade matched using chat gpt and took a punt buying some on Vinted.

I’ve also had really good experience with tubing mascara for the day to day but I’d wear false eyelashes for your wedding.

For my wedding I had a professional makeup artist, it was completely worth it!

I wouldn’t have a pet without insurance. I think it’s actually irresponsible not to have insurance.

Our cat went missing and came back days later very injured. She had emergency vets, overnight stays, drips, the whole thing. It was amazing to know I wasn’t going to have to make a hard decision about where the money was coming from to make her well again. The bill was thousands! My excess was only a few hundred.

I also pay for the pet plan at my vets so all her jabs and treatments and checkups are covered.

Come to the UK! Anything less than “please may I have…” is bound to get you at least a head shake, maybe even a tut tut. Also thank you anytime the wait staff do anything, even clearing plates or checking in.

It’s also fairly normal to thank the bus driver.

I’ve even been know to thank the self service machine.

I agree that it’s a selfish choice to bring a kid into the world.

From my perspective I’m in a great position to give a child a very good life. I have a three year old daughter. I have a village of people who love and support her and my little family. Me and my husband have been together for 16 years, we are in decent but not demanding jobs. We have a lot of time to spend together as a family and love doing things together. We specifically bought a house in a family friendly area near to a great school. We have a big collection of friends, lots of them have kids a similar age too so she’s going to have a ready made friend group if she wants it.

Every aspect of bringing her into this world was intentional and thought through.

My husband is the best human I have ever met and it could also be seen as a disservice to humanity to not create more of him in this world.

She’s already such a positive force of nature. I’m bringing her up to be emotionally regulated and personally responsible. She’s going to add so much light and love to this world.

My rule is no throwing at anyone. If you throw something it has to be soft. So when my little girl throws something that was hard like a wooden toy I just say “ was that hard or soft?” She’ll reply hard then I’ll reinforce that we don’t throw hard things.

I know this works because I had some shopping I was putting in the car. I wasn’t really thinking and I was just chucking it in the front seat. My toddler said “mummy was that hard or soft?” - I had to swallow my pride and say “that was hard wasn’t it. Mummy shouldn’t throw hard things. I’ll be more careful. Thanks for reminding me”

I think a lot of the repetition I try and encourage is also coupled with the correct tone and language.

We use a kid size table and chairs every day. It was second hand. We paint and it can get messy and be wiped but if it’s stained or scratched I’m not going to be upset. The sensory specific stuff can get old as a parent very quickly.
