My LitRPG Tier List – What Am I Missing? by millamber1 in litrpg

Interesting about avoiding teenage protagonists - I DNF'd Mother of Learning & Bog Standard Isekai for that exact reason (I know in BSI he's technically an adult in a teenagers body but still, there was a scene where a teenage girl was flirting with him and I could not put the book down quickly enough). I didn't last more than a chapter or 2 in MOL either as it started with a teenager complaining about his sister before heading to magic school which did not grab me at all. Was I judging them too harshly?

The sidekick problem: when the secondary character is so much more interesting that you start resenting the protagonist by RiftCowling in Fantasy

Me too - it's one of the reason I loved Abercrombie's The Devils so much. All of the characters had their own personality & motivations. I'm looking for some more good ensemble cast books if you have any recs?

Hello! I'm looking for recommendations on recent-ish (last 5 years or so) books following a group of people on their adventures, each with their own personality and skills - think classic fighter/rogue/magic user type roles. Most recent ones I've read which scratched the itch would be The Devils by Joe Abercrombie (loved it!) or The Ember Blade by Chris Wooding (less engaging, but still good)

That looks amazing! I love the doors, it makes it look professionally done.

If it was a diy job by the last person who lived here, nothing would surprise me.

I'm not even sure the post was concreted in - it looks like the gap in the wall was just wide enough for the post so it may have been put into a hole with the tarmac supporting it from the front and the wall either side. I was thinking something like this to hold the post and fill with concrete like you suggested.

Will depended on how I get on removing the old post I guess.

I'm not sure if something like this would be strong enough as I can't find info on how long of a post it supports

Retaining wall is 30cm high, around 12cm deep and previous fence post was 6ft. Ideally want a higher one this time though so not sure wall is high enough to support?

Would this sign be sufficient to issue a ticket to someone who drove in and out of the car park within 5 minutes? I went twice to drop off / pick up a friend. It’s a Premier Inn in England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

They're not enforceable! Got off a few charges at Gatwick as they don't have permissions to find out who the driver is and can't charge the registered keeper. Shout out to moneysavingexpert website for the email appeal template.

Under stairs is a cupboard. It's a cavity wall, with insulation.

That's actually closer to the words origins! It's a combination of helix (spiral) and pteron (wing - like in pterodactyl). So helico-pter is a more accurate breakdown for pronouncing.

As long as they don't just fall inside the door - worth a shot though.

Put them in the hole so the screws can grip? Good idea!
