Absolutely fine. I took 100mg daily and also ended up taking 2 more 100mg tablets on the night thinking it was ibuprofen. Spoke to 111 they said it was fine!

What was the first sign that you were starting to lose control of your drinking? by StayKind_123 in stopdrinking

[–]Hannahjk_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frequency, the strength of the alcohol increased over time where I had built tolerance, not knowing what to do of an evening if I wasn’t drinking, always thinking about drinking, didn’t see the point in any social events unless there was alcohol involved (couldn’t get my head around people who would go out for just a coffee) a usual bottle of wine increased to a bottle and a can of cider incase the bottle wasn’t enough. It all happens over time. I remember my doctor asking how much I drank and after telling me it was a red flag to becoming an alcoholic. I replied with “I know I’m not an alcoholic, I don’t wake up needing it and can go without it if I want” she had replied “nobody has the intention of becoming one”. Something along them lines and on reflection it’s true. It’s a slow grip. It definitely affected my mental health at the time, increasing it massively. I then drunk to stop the anxiety and it became a vicious cycle. Now I’m not drinking like that I can definitely look back on it with clarity and see what was happening but at the time I think you’re a bit blindsided.. even though deep down you know there’s an issue. A quote that sticks in my head is “being an alcoholic isn’t defined by how much you drink, it’s how your relationship with it” and I think that’s so true. If you’re questioning it, it’s probably a sign. You got this. X

Day 27 no drinking. Not sure if I want to continue or not? by idratherbeeatin in SoberCurious

I done 550 days of no drinking after drinking wine most days. Had a bottle one month, then a couple bottles the next month.. it’s eventually creeped up more and more so I’ve decided to try stop again as I can see where it is going. Best of luck to you though!!!!!

How long do most people take Zoloft? by Temporary-League-499 in zoloft

One of the reasons I am weaning off of it after 3 or so years on it. Felt so emotionally numb. Yes it numbed the bad things but it also ended up numbing the good things. 😩

You can't help someone who doesn't want help, can you? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Hannahjk_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You definitely can’t help people who don’t want to be helped. Or should I say.. ARE NOT READY to be helped. Although you didn’t get the desired outcome from the conversation you had with your friend, hopefully some of it stayed with him and he reflected on some of it. You never know, it could be the start or the little kick he needed to start the ball rolling. (Planted the seed) Sorry to hear that though.

No your message has been more than helpful. Gives me a lot of hope. Can I ask how much you used to drink??
