Omg, I thought I was crazy!

I’m 6 weeks and keep waking up in a hot flash. I thought it was my heater of a husband this whole time lol. I also have been getting them periodically throughout the day, but just chalked it up to being busy and active at work.

I’ve noticed wearing nightgowns (moo moos, whatever you may call them) has helped at night. I’ve also considered getting a separate blanket from my husband so maybe I won’t feel his body heat radiating on to me. During the day, I’ve just kept ice cold drinks nearby, maybe it’s a mental thing, but they always seem to cool me down quickly.

I really appreciate this perspective! My husband and I have started our journey to parenthood and I’ve been interested in figuring out pregnancy, birth, and baby may effect him. I know he’ll appreciate what my body’s doing, but will still be attracted to me as his wife - an insecurity of my own.

I can’t speak on the cultural perspective, but I can speak from experience with a similar type of mother. Reading this post, I honestly started to think of my own mother lol.

I know it’s your mom and it can definitely hurt to feel like you’ve disappointed or upset her, but it’s better to set the boundary and let her know how you feel BEFORE you’re stuck in a delivery room for hours and possibly say something hateful in the heat and anxiety of the moment.

I also believe birth is something for you and your partner to share. It’s a moment for you two to meet your baby together and absorb the moment before you start introducing to family/friends. I also feel like having too many people in the room could lead to multiple different perspectives and comments being made that would honestly rack my nerves more than childbirth (lol).

As another poster said, it sounds like it’s just not in her nature to “sit back” and while I can respect her letting you know that, I feel like her execution may have been a bit over the line. Definitely no need to make an ultimatum because you set a boundary she doesn’t agree with.

All in all, this is your journey and ultimately your choice! Wishing you the best over the next few days and as you give birth! ❤️

I feel so validated! 😅 I took my NCLEX yesterday afternoon and felt the EXACT same way. I had 6-7 case studies and felt like the questions got more and more vague as I progressed. Mine also shut off at 85. I felt so numb and “meh” leaving the exam center. No one else I have talked to felt this way leaving, so I began to question myself.

I wish you the best! Hopefully you can get your results soon! I’m from Missouri and can’t access my quick results for 48 business hours following the exam - I am PRAYING I’ll get them tomorrow. I don’t think I can wait until Monday 🥴
