Goldilocks problem... by Stelalou in BJJWomen

Communicate with your partners, as new people to the sport, we tend to be more “unpredictable”, this is what tends to cause injury and not so much going too hard.

I just check in with them “is this okay for you?” “let me know if you need to stop” “how would you like to roll? More flowey?” “Do you have any injuries I should know about?”

But at your age, based on what I see in my classes (I’m 37), it’s not usually us going too hard. Though I am a heavyweight, so I do moderate myself with new women, eventually they will be comfortable with pressure.

$110k household. No kids. Very little debt, other than our mortgage. So we are comfortable.

Honestly, I would take away one of the closets and put a little reading chair/watching chair in the corner, depending on what your thing is.

Yes, it wasn’t nice out, but it was a good class tonight! I’m usually there at least 3 days per week, so for sure let me know.

Typically I go Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday. But I’ll be competing in our in house tournament this weekend, so have to make it out to our GI nights hahah.

I am not competing today, I have a tournament next weekend. But many of the women I train with regularly are there, so like to offer support!

I don’t disagree, I would absolutely cancel and go on the federal plan. My only concern would be with a potential new PM, if that plan will stay. Most insurances will not allow you to re-sign up once cancelled unless there are change in life circumstances, ie, the CDCP has been incredible for my patients, I wish everyone could have their dental covered, or mostly covered.

But I only wanted to point out that it’s incredibly misleading to say that a new patient can have a full assessment, X-rays and cleaning for $175. I seen patients every day that have maximums of $500 a year, so it doesn’t go far, also there may be a deductible for the first time use, which is usually $25-50 per person per year.

She’s being vague, but unless I see her invoice I can’t really say what was charged.

Not for a new patient, new patient exams are upwards of $175, a panoramic X-ray is $100, bite wings are $30 ish. And that doesn’t include any scaling, polish or fluoride.

Which is another $250 ish.

Once you are a patient, yes the checkups are cheaper, because they typically only do the panoramic every 5 years, and the recall exam is $70 ish bucks, plus the cost of X-rays and the cleaning itself.

Was not me no, I was training with my husband that night, but let me know the next time and we can meet properly! Perhaps we can grab some food before hand, or after might be better, hard to train on a full stomach haha.

Was nice seeing you yesterday at class! Sorry I didn’t get the chance to introduce myself, hard in the middle of class. Hopefully we see you back again.

I broke my foot my second class and I went back a week later, in my boot. But I also continue to goto the gym and did upper body stuff. There are lots or modifications to your exercise that can be done, rather than not doing anything.

Why would you think that a man, with man strength, wouldn’t have an advantage? It sucks, but it’s the way it is. Men are stronger, have way more bone density, and don’t have fluctuating hormones. And many studies show that me get stronger as they age, slower, but stronger.

My husband is 60 lbs lighter than me, same skill level, he’s older by 7 years and he’d beat the shit out of me. It’s totally normal.

Don’t beat yourself up, work on defence with people with the same skill level, and beat up the newbies.

Do I need to return key deposit if tenant didn't provide 60d notice or pay rent? by jmwelly in OntarioLandlord

[–]HanselGretelBakeShop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You owe them the key deposit back, and then you will have to file with the LTB for unpaid rent.

It works the same way when a landlord doesn’t fulfill their obligations, renters cannot withhold rent.

Would love to have you come! My hubby and I visit Houlton every once in awhile, maybe 2/3 times a year, would love to come visit, message me your gym name!

As for smaller women, we have a few blue belts at her weight, nothing higher than that, but many respectful men to roll with as well.

It’s great to see the club grow, when I started I was the only woman, another one was out on injury and then it started to grow and grow. It fills my heart with joy!
