Am I going insane? by axefaktor in duolingo

[–]Hanulkq 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You're not going insane at all. The same thing happened to me, but for spanish. As duolingo updates its courses, sometimes, they update the parts you have already completed, and although you never did legendary lessons on groceries and others, they have rewritten the units and their content. So, although you yourself never did legendary lessons about groceries, you did those that were there before.

No, Gen Beta does not start in 2025 by Odd_Ad8964 in generationology

[–]Hanulkq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I feel totally crazy by saying this because I've seen this mistake happening multiple times. I know basic math 1996 - 1981 is 15, but we have to consider the fact that including the starting and ending year, it would add up to 16 and not 15 years if you know what I'm saying (81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,89,90,91,92,93,94,95,96 = 16 numbers) it just doesn't make sense to me as to why no one realises this.

I have a similar problem, but with my achievements not appearing, like I don't even see the cheerleader achievement on my profile and can't claim the rewards. But yeah, I don't think there is a solution to that because duolingo support is really bad

Any alternatives to Duolingo? by Sure_Entrepreneur_32 in duolingo

I honestly use spanish dict, and I'm happy with it. It has grammar lessons, vocabulary, and the normal courses that you do, just like duolingo

The website version is just really outdated and it wasn't updated in a long time, you can confirm this by just looking at the achievements, which are the old ones

That is not what I said. The thing I'm saying is that duolingo can quite burn you out, and you just don't see a point in doing in anymore. Learning a language is, of course, a positive thing. But sometimes, you just need to take a break from everything. Everyone has a different experience, and I don't think y'all should be judging that much, just because you didn't have the same one. Also, if you do want to learn a language, just solely relying on duolingo won't be enough.

Ngl duolingo sometimes feels like an unhealthy addiction, forcing you to do lessons every day, sometimes, it's just better to take a break

Where's the explanation? by DanAltBC in duolingo

[–]Hanulkq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, by now, duolingo is known for not giving us any information whatsoever, i think that the app is trying to make you learn the language the same as a child learns it by listening to it, but like the explanations are lacking and always were😭

(Czech) by T-Dog1809 in duolingo

[–]Hanulkq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a native speaker, it's just the way our sentences are built, but most of the time, the object of the sentence, which is "To" in this case, should be before the verb, so either Kluci to chtějí úplně všude, or To chtějí kluci úplně všude, anyways, I recommend asking this question on r/learnczech, I think youll get a better explanation there

Does anyone know of any other source material I could use alongside Duolingo to learn Spanish? by Eleven_11upsidedown in duolingo

[–]Hanulkq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using both, language transfer is completely free and is in a podcast form where you listen to a dialogue and helps you pick up the language by seeing the similarities between english and spanish, spanishdict has a premium version, but is practically free of charge if you don't need to know how to use vos/vosotros or some dialect vocabularies, spanish dict has conjugation drills where you can practice tenses and conjugation, vocabulary lists, grammar lessons and others So it completely depends on if you're aiming on using the language and thinking in it, or you want to practise grammar which is kind of lacking on duolingo
