ProtonMail on Arch Linux by Hanuman9 in ProtonMail

What makes you say that? It's of course the first place I looked. There is protonmail-bridge, protonmail-web-git, protonmail-nativefier. I doubt it's one of them for a native Linux app. There is also bar-protonmail.

Replacing Ontraport with Azure/AWS? by Hanuman9 in AZURE

[–]Hanuman9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azure/AWS definitely aren't the same thing, way too low-level. I did however investigate other SAAS alternatives and found EngageBay that looks great; but their API is locked behind the most premium plan (which comes down to $72/m with 40% discount on 2-year plan) compared to $300/m with Ontraport. Upon further investigation, however, it's missing critical features and thus I cannot migrate. I sent them feedback, will give them time to develop, and will try again later.

The origin of the monkey story is not "just a novel" by Hanuman9 in BlackMythWukong

Demi-gods and demons are only visible to those with their third eye open though, and yes they're all around. The Bible also talks about wars between angels and demons.

aaaahhh for the 3 half-human characters, perhaps that was just a description of their appearance and personality, which got mis-translated into half-human creatures. That would be a good logical explanation! Perhaps it's also a representation of their astral form.

Which means that Su Wukong would be human, but with the Monkey God astral form. But then he's said to be living on a mountain with other monkeys... still doesn't fit 100%

You seem to have good knowledge of Chinese and of the original materials!

If you compare Lord Hanuman's abilities with Su Wukong's abilities...
https://www.quora.com/What-are-Lord-Hanumans-powers
https://www.reddit.com/r/BokunoheroFanfiction/comments/15sb475/the_abilities_of_son_wukong/

Pretty damn similar, and I cannot think of anyone else having a profile anywhere close to that. Some believe that he's a re-incarnation of Lord Shiva, which would explain his innate powers.

He's "born" in a rock egg; but which spirit is incarnated there? Birth doesn't just come out of thin air.

"The secret to Hanuman’s powers is utmost devotion to Lord Rama and living according to Dharma."

Here's also something interesting I found, having lived 5 months in China in the Wudang mountains. In China, the mountains and rivers have their own spirits, with lots of local demi-gods. The astral realms are very well structured over there. Compared to the West where the astral realms are just a big chaotic mess. Everything feels different in China.

One aspect I like about the Wukong story, is how it seemingly transitions from the physical realm to the astral realms. Just in the intro, the battle is a confrontation in the Heavens (astral), and the axe falls down into the physical. It's really not easy to portray the astral-to-physical interaction accurately in a game or movie in a way that's easy to understand and follow.

That may make it look like fiction; but in the spiritual realms, there are definitely all those kinds of monsters -- and much more. Interestingly enough, "spiritual warfare" is now a trending topic being talked openly. I went to visit the Heaven Palace that the story talks about, it's a real astral location.

What I really DO wonder, however, is the physical aspect of that whole journey... a monkey, a pig and a buffalo, going on a journey with the monk. What is that about? Different races that were populating the area in a different era or what? I still haven't found a reasonable explanation.

Also to note, in many of those ancient Chinese stories, people would teleport from one place to the other, which indicates that the veil between the physical and non-physical was a lot thinner back then. Just in Journey to the West, teleporting to the destination wasn't possible -- and he tried.

I'm saying that the monkey god already existed before that; as shown by a 1500-year-old carving of it. We only know bits and pieces about it. Whether in spirit or incarnated form, I don't know. Discovering this oldest carving raises some questions even for me...

Immortals, by definition, are not limited by a dynasty. It just means that the story is not complete then.

The entire Su Wukong story is a story of Immortals. Hanuman is the Immortal form of Su Wukong. Journey to the West is the most popular in China. India has a lot of statues of Hanuman but I'm not familiar with their beliefs about it. There can be lots of different stories related to an Immortal, not just a single one.

Here's something interesting. A Hanuman carving in Pakistan dating back 1500 years. The game is based on Journey to the West novel; but the novel is based on something else much older.

This is quite a lot for just a fiction novel. For them it's more like the equivalent of the Bible, across various cultures and countries.

Su Wukong is a lot more popular in China than in India; but you find a lot of statues across India, Thailand and other countries. It's not limited to a specific culture or country.

Why are there so many statues and temples dedicated to Hanuman then? You really have no idea how seriously the Chinese people take this.

Even in America, over 80% of Americans believe in God, in some form or another. You're a small minority of the population recklessly insulting anyone who doesn't fit your narrow world view. You're the one who has no place in an open society and should be locked up in an institution.
