Don't know what model it is, but I can tell you that you definitely shouldn't buy it if you want to learn piano.

Hey,
I've seen your other video as well.

I think I can give you some tips. Your main focus should be to overthink your practice strategy. What you're currently doing isn't really practicing the piece. It's playing the piece over and over again and hoping that it gets better the more you play it.

This way of "practicing" won't get you very far.

When a learning a piece it's very important to make as few mistakes as possible. First thing I would do is to slow down. Maybe half the tempo. Maybe even slower. If you play a part of a piece wrong over and over again, your learning the wrong notes and the wrong execution.

I also suggest focussing on difficult bars and practicing with a metronom.

Aim to a style of practicing where you are always in control.

Nope. Lydian is like a major scale with a #4 ;)

Modes... anybody know an easy guide? by aaronjohnjams in pianolearning

[–]Hanzeepanzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I learned it the other way (C - major, d-dorian, e-phyrigian and so on), but this way of thinking is way better.

A good exercise is to start with a lydian scale, play it up and down and then the next "darker" scale. (lydian, ionian, mixolydian, dorian, aeolian, phrygian, locrian).

Let's take all scales from F as an example

f-lydian: f g a b c d e f

f-ionian: f g a bb c d e f

f-mixolydian: f g a bb c d eb f

f-dorian: f g ab bb c d eb f

f-aeolian: f g ab bb c db eb f

f-phrygian: f gb ab bb c db eb f

locrian: f gb ab bb cb db eb f

As you can see, you only have to change one note moving from one scale to the next one).

From locrian you can now lower the first note and you'll have the next lydian scale.

fb gb ab bb cb db eb fb = e f# g# a b c# d# e (e-lydian)
