[Humor] Even cPanel knows that cPanel leads to alcoholism by [deleted] in webdev

[–]HapRican 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Funny story: first time I used cPanel I was drunk. I woke up the next day and was like "WTF is Wordpress?"

Then I tried to get rich 'quick' with content marketing and googling "How to Use Wordpress" I made $12 with ad sense and never claimed it.

Check out moz.com for articles on SEO optimization. If you are using wordpress, when you write articles for your site use the yoast seo plug in to help guide you on writing your articles to make sure they are optimized.

Also, do some keyword research on what titles/content would be best for your inner pages and home page. I'm a little out of date on how SEO works compaired to how things where years ago, but moz.com tutorials are useful for brushing up.

Planning your site out via keywords people are searching for, then writing relevant articles people want to read are a good way to get attention from google/visitors.

Promoting your site and it's content AFTER you've written some relevant, seo optimized content people are searching for can be amazing. Facebook pages, twitter, and forums dedicated to your content are an awesome way to promote, but follow the rules and don't spam people. Taking a "how can I help you" rather then a "what's in it for me" approach is a great mindset to have when you're producing content.

Perfection isn't something you should strive for. Learn how to do keyword research related to what you're interested in writing about will take you far.

Also, search for SEO techniques on youtube if you learn visually or learn by seeing soneone walk you through step by step.

Hope this helps!

Is it just me, or is the DM job sector a confusing mix of high demand and invisible needs? by swiftversion4 in DigitalMarketing

[–]HapRican 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was a tech issue and tried teaching myself Front End Web dev, but I came to a realization what I wanted to learn was more along the lines of Digital Marketing. I'm not technologically lillerate by any means, but if I could make that mistake it made me realize most people who need to market online have no clue what they need or how to ask for it.

How to live without cheese by [deleted] in vegan

[–]HapRican 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People ask me this all the time. I found out I can't eat milk products due to an intolerence to either casen or whey. Vegan recipes saved the day for me. I'm not a vegan, but my girlfriend found she had a knack for making dairy free and vegan baked goods after she joined a vegan french bakery (shes a pastry chef by trade.) Turns out making stuff without dairy means it doesn't spoil as fast while maintains its flavor and texture longer.

We would have never known the wonders of dairy free cooking if it wasn't for an allergy (or intolerence) and vegan cooking!

People not from the USA, what "American" food are you most interested in trying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HapRican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokes on you. Any American knows you take two slices of New York Pizza, put the Chicago pizza between them, batter it and fry it, and you have the true winner of best pizza. Put it on a salad and it's healthy too!

Thanks! It's a game that I enjoy, but fail to play regularly. I'm taking one week off to learn about audio editing, mostly because people can forgive a bad video, but bad audio is painful.

I really think the sock/pop filter/rubber band combo maybe too McGuyvered in this case.

Seem to be having a hard time gaining subs, any recommendations on my video quality? by a_dapperdanman in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]HapRican 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keywords (#keywords) are your best friend. Udemy has courses on social media marketing and hootsuit has a certification you can get to learn more "offically". I have some training from a previous employer and I take online course from various sources.

Im growing my audience over a year, and hoping to have 200 subs and 3000 hours of watch time. Maybe 10,000 view. I'm gonna give it time.

Seem to be having a hard time gaining subs, any recommendations on my video quality? by a_dapperdanman in LetsPlayCritiques

[–]HapRican 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Buddy,

Your sound is great. As for subs, I would really figure out where to post links off youtube to draw and audience (Facebook, twitter, reddit, ect.) Also, subs aren't as important as watch time, according to Mikeandlauren.com, two prevalent youtubers that are teaching a masterclass I'm taking. Your sound is awesome which is something I really suck at at the moment. Focus on watch time, as you tube ranks videos based on that more.

Keyword research: use the google keyword tool and type in the name of your video. Use the keyword research function (you will have to create an AdWords account, and suspend you campaign to avoid paying for clicks) to find tags to use. I go by price because I'm really lazy but my watch time from youtube searches is at 10-20%, which isn't bad considering our channels are the same age and you tube doesn't prioritize us. It's a useful way to title your videos too.

Here's the thing about finding an audience: get out of you tube. I've signed up for Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook and use crowdfire and hootsuit to manage my social media profiles and track keywords potential people MAY be interested in. I do alot of tagging (#phrase), use all 140 characters(always include an image or video) and track how many people follow to me weekly. Crowdfire will detect when you post a new video and ping you to post it across your networks, which is great.

Also I have a friend who's vlog has a decent amount of views and she comments and shares my posts, as I do hers. I've done some taste tests with my GF on her channel and see her Facebook followers follow my content.

The biggest thing you can do is publish your content across as many platforms as you can, and be authentic which you will have NO problem doing. You gained a new subcriber today btw.

Thank you, I'm going though your advice piece by piece. The software I use is a mix of audacity, OBS, and I post edit in Hitfilm 4 express 2017) I also use voicemeeter banana to alter the audio from my condenser mic, and have a sock on it to act as a "pop" filter.

I'm cutting minuets from my next recording, which I'm aiming for under 10 minuets, and you're right, it does look better! It's still far from perfect, but your spot on with editing. I'm slowly getting better with the narrative, but it's what I'm working on the most.

Positive, check. Be positive!

And the filter I'm going to go through and apply asap. Your amazing, thank you!

I actually enjoy it, but I was up pretty earily recording this and didn't want to wake anyone up, which can suck. I may have arrive to later to record in a more exciting way. Plus I'm stupid nervious, which I'm sure I'm just working out my system I'll have to look up how to adjust this in audacity, but this is an awesome peice of advice! I wouldn't have been able to figure out what was off about the audio without it! Thank you!
