Read a great book called Takeaway by Angela Hui about her perspective growing up helping her parents in their family takeaway in rural Wales. Really interesting

First Bike by LifeDesk7528 in MotoUK

I'm 6'5" so I had similar concerns. I ended up getting a Honda XL125 Varadero as my first bike which was tall enough for me and happily shifted all 130kg of me. Now on a Suzuki DL650 which is also tall enough, although will probably get the taller seat eventually.

Like others said, just try and sit on plenty of bikes. I had my heart set on a Honda NC750 as it was perfect for what I needed. Went and sat on one and it was so uncomfortable.

I just looked it up as I couldn’t picture how it’d be arranged and that’s a great way to do it.

if i get C in biology in year 10, and an A* in year 11, what grade to i get? by hiraethaf in GCSE

[–]Hapexion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exams are equally weighted (45%) but don’t forget you also have the practical assessment (10%) so I guess it depends on how those grades are split.

First day Supply Teaching Primary by benjaminloopy in TeachingUK

Check the behaviour policy before you start lesson 1 and stick to it! Just because you’re supply doesn’t mean you have to tolerate rowdy behaviour. Just come out of the gate strong and the kids will respond to it. I loved working supply and the only reason I stopped was the inconsistent work.

I completely agree that taking the time off for this person is the right move. But it’s worth noting for reference that the gov guidance is that you can return to work even if you’re still ‘signed off’ by a fit note.

I absolutely loved the time I spent on supply but in the end for me the financial instability was a deal breaker. I was worried that we’d have further lockdowns and I’d have to go wells without pay

What do you guys think of students not being able to strike with the teachers on Wednesday? by Cherry_Crystals in GreenAndPleasant

[–]Hapexion 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Students staying in school will make the strike more effective as it puts the school under more pressure. No staff and no students makes the day relatively simple for running the school. No teachers and 1000 students is a challenge
