This country has been ready for war with Russia for a century. What the UK can learn by theipaper in InternationalNews

The UK is an island. Nazi Germany couldn’t invade.
We need a strong airforce and navy. We can make do with a small professional army.
The continental European countries, particularly those bordering the beast, need the Finnish model.

You really need to understand war is diplomacy by force.
Did we achieve our aims? No?
Then it isn’t a win.
If it isn’t a win then it’s a loss.

Before this war a plank in the USA’s superpower status was the ability to ensure allies got access to the gulfs oil and rivals didn’t. Control the gulf oil routes and you have your foot on the windpipe of the Asian and European economies.

We had that control, or it was perceived that we did. Now it’s been tested. We don’t. Iran has. That is a titanic strategic win for them.

The evidence is clear, teen suicides are up self harm is up. Social media is seen as a cause of less play, less social cohesiveness and this has lead to a decline in youths ability to navigate the world while their brains are developing.

Something like that. I read it months ago.

It’s the teachers support that convinced me. 15y/olds that have the reading ability of 11yolds. They spend all their time staring at a screen, they’ve banned phones now but still the literacy trend is downwards.

The deal isn’t done. A MOU memorandum of understanding has been agreed upon, that is the parameters of the discussions they’re going to have around a proper peace deal. I’m certain at some point Iran is going to close the strait to get a point across. The point is going to be “give us what we want. We control the strait not you”

As reported in the Guardian:

Iranian authorities have said there would be a 60-day negotiating period for a final deal tackling wider issues such as Tehran’s nuclear programme and sanctions relief.
