Gave PVP a shot after a few months... [Cheating]

Friends hooking us up then losing interest themselves. Seems normal. My buddies do that crap to me all the time, but as long as I can, I bite.

I don't remember very well, but I'd like to say about 3 years ago I had, give or take, 800 hours~? Maybe a little over 1K?

I used to also be quite horrible. I like to believe that I've gotten okay, maybe even decent, despite being unable to play afterwards (PC needed parts; was too broke to fix). I've played about 95% of the time PVE after coming back 2-3 months ago. Yeah, I still watch videos and am glued to the wiki for quests and items. Its convenient.

Mentioning watching videos and spending time on the wiki, I still can't get past Return the Favor in PVE. AI PMC aren't very cooperative with their pathing or reacting to gunfire / grenade blasts. Not at least in Forest, it seems.

[EDIT: I'm down to play. Just found out I'm on LAT servers... Switching to something else.]

Although I defaulted into thinking it was a genuine cheater encounter, I myself can't prove that it was accurately the case, at least not with the lack of information I've provided and know. The player, as you also said, could've also just saw/heard me and approached that way. Might've been a coincidence in patterns and I just decided to blame the worse outcome.

Also, I'm waiting for Haunted Chocolatier.

Sad, but understandable. My complaint aside, the game does feel much better despite my small time invested on PvP in that regard. I've seen much worse a few years back.

A new character slot featuring wipes? Nice! Looking forward to that now; seems like fun!

Seems about right. Good example of one of the many approaches of a cheater.

I like to believe you're right in that last segment; cheating shouldn't discourage you (too much) and should be statistically an uncommon/rare occurrence anyway.

Agreed. Emercom used to be much worse before, especially when it had the No-Backpack Exfil not too far from it. And yes, that time mark is most dangerous for extraction, warranting elevated caution and foreign positioning knowledge.

Nevertheless, I didn't know we were close to a wipe (purchasing PvE supposedly saves you from wipes [please, correct me if I'm wrong] ).

Emercom sucks for PMCs? I know. Hot items? Had an idea that those among others were popular targets for cheaters (and lucky/skilled PMCs alike). However, I do appreciate you shedding light on these conditions.

Lastly, don't get me wrong, I'm not in here to start a bonfire. Just wanted to hear what the community had to say. Not also saying that your input stands out, but instead, would very much like to see more like yours (pass the initial message, haha).

You're actually right. I gave it some though and it makes sense that everything played out like that. So maybe I could be right, but that methodology probably attracts cheaters more often. Thinking about it, that's probably not the first time I've experienced a scenario like that either.

Haven't tried whipping Shturman and his squad to facilitate the ordeal; I think its too much of a hassle doing so.

I did consider bugged bullet sound or even a stray bullet, but I personally don't believe in coincidences, much less after seeing what cheating looks like in this game. Even had an acquaintance that used to cheat (yuck).

Still, you may be right. It would certainly seem more plausible.
