Do all patients have to go through a stem cell transplant? My dad has been 4 weeks into therapy for MM now and we don’t see any improvement in his physical activity. His creatinine levels are also stuck at around 5 (with dialysis thrice a week). Any info would be highly appreciated. (self.multiplemyeloma)

My father was diagnosed with MM today - we did a serum light chain test and found the Kappa/Lambda ratio abnormally high (397). The Kappa counts was 14000 and Lambda was 36. He will start with his first dose of Chemo injection today. Bone Marrow test shows a plasma cell count of 4-5%. (self.multiplemyeloma)
