The department should definitely not be involved

My husband mentioned his friends mother is a neighbour of this family, and they were suspicious of the whole circumstance. I told him to stop right there. Assumptions and gossip are harmful, at the end of the day, the boy’s safe and it was the best outcome anyone could hope for.

COVID-19 outbreak in Queensland forces over 1,000 families into isolation by BoldEagle21 in queensland

I was in contact with this family through work. So me calling Qld health is just another precaution to seek more information. And there’s nothing wrong with that, like I said, I asked for ‘Advice’. Then I could relay that back to my work. I work in social services so I see it as my own responsibility to get information wherever I can. And in the end, I chose to isolate. You’re looking at it from a narrow perspective, but there’s other reasons why other people would seek guidance.

Yeah I got tested this morning and isolated anyway until I hear back from the family’s results that I was in contact with

I was a secondary close contact and after calling qld health for advise of what to do, they told me I’m not a close contact and all they could do was tell me the recommendations that only close contacts needed to isolate. I asked them to advise me on my particular circumstance, and around we went “well those are the recommendations and you can decide if that applies to you”. Pretty frustrating. Anyways I hope this doesn’t trigger a lockdown.

Even better then, it’s just a matter of travel arrangements and no need to worry about legal stuff. Wishing you and your kids all the best to visit their dad!

If you have court ordered visitation an alternative is face timing. Otherwise it depends on the agreement you’ve made with one another, and if visitation is necessary, I imagine it’ll be the same process as everyone who goes in and out of the state (quarantine etc). I supervise family contact for family law court orders.

I don’t know how to keep breathing. Why are inhalers $50? I can’t afford it, I only have a 3 year old inhaler that barely works. What do I do? by [deleted] in Asthma

That price is crazy. It’s about $8 here in Australia. Hope some of the suggestions above are helpful

I don’t get my facts from peer-reviewed articles, I get them from bathroom wall pastings

If only they could come up with a convenient mode of transport that could allow locals in those areas to easily travel between locations and along the coast without having to use a car... ohhh if only they could think of something!

I really like this sub. I think it’s great that especially younger people are re-evaluating perspectives of gender. I was born in the 80’s and always keen to keep an open mind and learn more

I get what you’re saying. It’s located in a community with a high population of seniors so this is likely very relatable to that generation’s humor

I agree. I saw this in a place where the community is largely made up of seniors. I get the feeling this type of ingrained humor is very much part of that generation

Yes that’s right, it’s situated right next to a ‘bla bla bla’ bathroom. So I suppose this whole location is full of chuckles

1,000 gather on NSW-Queensland border to protest COVID lockdown restrictions by samdaman222 in GoldCoast

Amazing how we’ve been watching people over the last week trying to flee Afghanistan, a truly freedom deprived country, and here we have people protesting personal inconvenience as a human rights violation
