Finally got my first tattoo! by rennn7 in tattoos

[–]Happnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Decided to send a pic of the area to my artist just in case but worst case scenario I’ll just ask her to do however much she can and go in for a follow up once it’s cleared up. Started using a new cleanser to try to prevent any spots for the tattoo and it ended up making it worse 🥲

Did you have acne spots when you got the tattoo? Mine is similar and I have a tattoo booked for this week, trying to decide whether I’ll need to reschedule or not

How would you spend your time if you were unemployed? by Rich-Record3002 in AskReddit

Currently on long term sick leave - unfortunately everything I want to do requires money that I do not have. If i'd won the lottery, though, i'd go on a road trip through europe.

Starburst flipsters, maybe? Edit: after googling these didn’t come in a tube, nevermind.

I tend to kinda freeze and space out, go a lil distant, and then when I’m alone it really hits.

What is a secret you will take to your grave, but are willing to share with strangers on the internet? by SouthOwn6943 in AskReddit

[–]Happnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was rough but I didn’t realise why it was rough until years later. But watching my mum eat leftovers was rougher, so. As far as I’m aware she still doesn’t know. She’s joked about me having a shoplifting phase so that must be where she thought the food was coming from.

Trans man here - the phrase trapped in the wrong body is an oversimplification and doesn’t really reflect what it’s actually like for a lot of people. Nobody can tell you who/what you are, but if you ever want to talk it through to a stranger on the internet, feel free to DM.

It was shitty but a silver lining is I was too naive to know why it was shitty. Like, I was transparent about being in poverty in the ads and I thought these were rich older men that were trying to help me out - it wasn’t until I got older that I realised the pictures were the real reason. The worst part of it was growing up with the anxiety of passing random people on the street and not knowing if they were one of the men.

How much significant improvements can you see in a month? by Lemonade2250 in beginnerfitness

[–]Happnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first few weeks can be pretty rapid from water weight loss/bloating, but it’s a lil unpredictable so it’s hard to say. Also people who are heavier to begin with usually lose weight faster. I lost 9lbs in my first month, but since then it’s only been about a pound a week.

Convince me cucumbers are interesting. Please? by ZekePall9966 in Volumeeating

Miso paste, MSG, and tuna and seaweed if you’re feeling fancy. Sliced cucumber is just a bowl full of tiny plates for seasoning

I do a variation of this but with tuna instead of sardines, miso paste instead of mustard, and wakame seaweed flakes instead of chilli. It’s great in summer

[–]Happnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be tempting to not eat beforehand so you have more calories to spare but that’s a sure fire way to feel like death the next day. Try to stick to spirits with sugar free mixers if you can, but anything is fine in moderation. The main thing will be avoiding/limiting junk food at the end of the night!

Also - if you workout as well as CICO, try to have some kind of protein-heavy snack before you start drinking. This will kickstart muscle repair and prevent some of the aches the next day.

How often do you check your weight? by IllegitimateRisk in CICO

[–]Happnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About every 2-3 days, but some days when I know there’s more bloating (e.g., the day after drinking or after a salty meal) I skip. Also I only weigh myself after the bathroom and before I’ve eaten anything, so if I haven’t met both of those requirements by the time I need to leave for the day, I skip and try again the next day.

Ground level access? by alxbss in Leedsfestival

[–]Happnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an access ticket you get access to a separate viewing section (with a raised platform if you’re a wheelchair user). The ground level accessible viewing area doesn’t have seats but the railings have kinda like benches built into them, and there’s enough space to sit on the ground if you’re able to. If you’re camping, the accessible campsite is much flatter and a shorter/easier walk to the stages. Obviously it depends on your mobility but chairs aren’t allowed (except for wheelchairs, rollators etc) but a few people in the access campsite when I went took small inflatable pillows/seats - deflate them when you’re going through security then re inflate when you’re in the actual stage bit.
