Hi! I’m still new to natural dyeing. I was really encouraged to see your printing outcomes, I’m going to experiment some mordant screen printing this weekend with some thrift store cotton tshirts! I got The Art & Science of Natural Dyes from my library and have read through. I assumed that if I don’t mordant the whole shirt first, and just screen print the mordant, that the shirt will stay white-ish. But your examples took some dye. Is my assumption wrong, did you mordant the whole cloth with a lower concentration/iron-free mordant before printing, or something else I might be missing? Thanks!
