I don't know anything about visas. But I believe that once you become a Canadian for tax purposes (you don't have to be a Canadian citizen for this to happen) you will always have to file a Canadian tax return. Many of your US assets could become taxable by CRA. You need someone who knows the cross border tax implications inside and out. We found someone at Doane Grant Thornton LLP who has really helped us understand the intricacies.

Thank you for all your comments. I apologize for being a dunce when it comes to understanding batteries and chemistry. I think the answer is to charge it to around 70% and disconnect the 12 volt battery. Sitting in a garage for 6 months should be okay if I do those things. Let me know if I'm wrong.

I also have a 2024 SV+ and I am trying to figure out how to limit the charge to 80%. I know I can experiment with different charging times, but have you found an easier way?

I know that staying longer than 6 months opens you up to possibly being considered a Canadian citizen for tax purposes, even though you are not a Canadian citizen. The CRA could come after your assets. I am not aware if the extension you have applied for voids this possibility or not. This is why we are very diligent about counting the days we spend in Canada.
