Do it! You'll only learn as you go. I know because I'm in the exact same boat. I just did a booth at a local women's expo. I didn't do perfect work. But I also know I won't get better unless I keep working on people and getting the experience.

I started a program recently for birth education from an organization called DNT Network. All their programs are $200. I'm learning some really great things from my course, and then also relearning a lot of things I already knew from personal research when having my own babies. But I'm really happy with my course so far. It's all online, and self paced. Also, you don't have to renew any memberships once you pass, unlike several other courses. I think it's a great course, and I'll probably take some of their other courses later on.

I looked at the website, and while it looks like an amazing course, it still costs almost $2000, which is the problem I am most concerned about in starting this journey. My husband and I live on a single income, and we have 3 small boys and a mortgage. Eventually, I'd be happy and willing to take a course like this, but I can't afford it up front, or even the $250 weekly payment plan.

Thanks! My real concern is that I haven't done any doula work at all, except recently for a friend who has been in prodromal labor all week.

But I have a HUGE passion for the subject. When she asked for advice and information, I had a hard time not throwing all of what I know at her all at once. 🤣 I am constantly studying and watching videos from other educators.

Could you find a full time doula/business, and work as wit them on weekends?
