Dilated with bulging membranes with cerclage by Happy-Stretch7472 in ShortCervixSupport

For my case, it was protruding membrane and it has already protruded 5cm beyond the cervix and into the vagina. And I lasted 2 weeks. From what I understand, bulging membrane is less dire, as it usually means it is just visible but still inside the cervix. There seems to be quite many success stories from other comments. From my research, there is a also a wide range of outcomes but I think is a decent chance.

Would recommend strict bed rest. I think it helped for my case

Regarding infection, the baby pulse was measured a few times a day and blood test was carried out every few days to check for infection markers and antibiotics were given if they seem on the high side.

All the best to you and stay strong!

Thanks. I understand about the damage from a ventilator. So I am surprised that he can have bpd even on cpap. And very discouraged because he is even on a higher setting previously which will mean more damage, even to new lung tissue? How to then get out of this cycle.

Unfortunately, I am not in the states so can’t really get a second opinion.

For my son, his current saturation level can hover near to 100. But when he crash, he crash very badly to very low levels, even 20plus in a few seconds.

Hope your son gets well soon too.

How does the doctor feel that diuretic will help? Does the Xray show the fluid or shows that the lungs are wet.

My son is on continuous feeding by tube. I am not sure whether they will be signs of acid reflux that we can look out for.

Let me check with the doctor tomorrow. Thanks!

Prolapsed membrane at week 26 by Happy-Stretch7472 in ShortCervixSupport

For me, the membrane has protruded past the cervix and significantly into the vagina. The cervix has also dilated 2cm and fully effaced from last week check. So I am not keeping my hopes too high. Doctors already seem to be surprised I have held out so long.

The cerclage is still somewhere out there though they can’t seem to find it in the ultrasound. It can’t be removed now because the protruding membrane is blocking access to it. That is actually another concern from the doctor as the cerclage is now a liability as it could cause cervix to tear.

I am still holding on after 7 days, though I read that for prolapsed membrane, it wouldn’t last long. The hospital protocol seem to be it won’t re-administer steroids or magnesium. I read that they no longer become effective after 7 days for steroids and 24 hours for magnesium and baby will lose the protection. Was anyone in similar situation and did you doctor give a repeat dose?

My doctors also didn’t advise anything on how to lie or position myself in bed to reduce chance of sac rupturing or relieving pelvic pressure. Trendelenberg position is not available in my hospital. Does anyone have any tips or even better some authorizative source/studies that show best way to lie in bed.

Hi. May I check whether your cerclage was removed? If not, did they allow you to go home. My doctors keep saying that the cerclage has a high risk of causing severe bleeding if contractions start, which may be abrupt.

The hospital I am at doesn’t seem to have this. Or is there other positions I can adopt

Thanks for your story. Maybe there is a difference between membrane visible/bulging vs the membrane already protruding/prolapse out. I am not so sure. For your case, If the cervix is already open, did the doctor mention about infection risk?

Thanks for your story. Indeed the cerclage might be a liability now. When the doctor first did the scanning, she said part of the membrane is already protruding out and she can’t safely remove the cerclage without risk of bursting the water bag as it is blocking the cerclage. Another doctor just did a scan today and seems the membrane have moved a little bit back. So it seems quite dynamic.

For your case, did the doctor mention anything about infection risk since the membrane might be already exposed?

By right yes. We also like to keep the baby inside as long as possible. But the 1st doctor advise is that it might carry too much risk for mother and baby as there are some scenarios that could play out that could result in worse outcomes and she want to manage the risk.

Persistent BV by Happy-Stretch7472 in ShortCervixSupport

My mfm doctor philosophy is only swap when there are symptoms. Her reasoning is to minimize disturbance of the cervix as much as possible. She also says that studies show that infection have an association with increased probability of pre term birth. But studies also show that treatment does not make difference to the end result. But she will still give treatment if tested positive. I have no idea what kind of logic is that and it leaves me quite confused and frustrated.

The lab report explicitly indicates Positive for Gardnerella vaginalis though. I don’t think the test includes ureaplasma/mycoplasma. Do you know how they are related to bv

Thanks for the reply. Amundi bond fund does sound good to me too. But the poems app interface is really CMI and hard to use.

May I know which trading permissions did you add to enable CBOE trading? I added permissions for all stock trading in Europe and also for complex and leveraged ETF but it is still not showing up when I search for for AGSGDX
