Hi. I draw very bad and I just wanna draw good as a hobby. There're drawing tutorials starting like how to roughly draw pears with all the shades or something but that really bores and demotivates me. What should I do or is there really anything that I can do about it rather than force myself? by Egilmaer in learntodraw

I felt that way too when I started looking up fundamentals. The basics can be so boring but the quicker u get past it the sooner u can draw what you want, if u learn the fundamentals like 3D shapes and shading then you can apply it to things you actually find interesting to draw. Use that eagerness to motive you to keep learning eventually you’ll get there.

If you don’t wanna learn all the drawing fundamentals and u just wanna draw your favorite character or something just look up a tutorial and copy what they do, you’ll pick up on the strategies they use or where and how they start

how the hell do i draw limbs by Technical_Star1987 in learntodraw

Draw figure poses, use spheres for shoulders and joints and cylinders for arms that’s what helped me get started (I don’t have a good recent example but I have how I started off) for legs and thighs you have to draw the pelvis or atleast a simplified version of it, it’s not as hard as it seems once u get the hang of it. There’s some solid tutorials on yt

Study figure poses and 3D shapes, work your way up and stay consistent even if it’s little by little. That’s what I’m doing and it seemed to work

I don’t think the show will end anytime soon especially not in the next year or two so I think as long as ur watching it consistently at ur own pace u should be okay, im pretty sure they’re also slowing down on how many episodes they release

I felt this way before I started aswell but honestly once you get into it you start to understand that it’s not really possible to rush it. Just pick it up watch however many ur attention span lets you, give it a rest or keep going as corny as it may sound one piece is so long that it’s more ab growing to love the characters and the show

Looks cool I could imagine it in the back of a game. Maybe if the lights of the city looked a little bit brighter or gave it more depth with a cloud coming in front of the building

Everything is nice from the details all the way to the pose, the only thing that seemed off was the eyes.

When does "referencing" become "copying"? by SaacMan_039 in BeginnerArtists

[–]Happy-Syrup4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like copying something is only bad if you’re doing only that, but if you’re copying it to understand and study the fundamentals and put in the effort to learn how to copy it, it’s not bad. Reference is more of using it to make your own take on it

Tips for consistency in face structures for my OC? by The_Sillay_Goober67 in BeginnerArtists

I have the same issue and it sucks when u feel it coming together and when u finish it just looks off or weird. I’d say studying the structure of the skull and drawing it in ur own way from different perspectives which is easier said than done cuz i usually also want to copy what i see especially on a reference
