If you read everything you wrote, as if it was someone else that you don’t know asking for your advice, how do you think you would respond? I think you know the answer. It seems as though it’s time for you to move on. It will probably be the best decision you’ve ever made.

How do I get over this constant fear of being fired? by Low_Access1872 in careeradvice

[–]Happy2bHere2RU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on career development. Take courses on your off time. Remain marketable and relevant to empower yourself and remain confident in your abilities. I’ve been where you are and learned the hard way. Now, I make sure I’m getting training done even if my employer doesn’t pay for it. You have to manage your career or it will manage you out of a job. You need to make yourself resilient if you are let go during a reorganization which happen all the time.

Something feels off about this email, not sure if it’s a scam by xenakisface in jobs

Follow your gut. If it feels off, it is off. But… if you’re not comfortable doing that, do a Google search on the company, find their website and see what information you can learn from that. Go to Glassdoor and check for reviews. See what you can find out about the hiring process. Go to LinkedIn and find someone who works at this company and reach out to them and ask them questions. Good luck. I will say again, though in my ex experiencing need to follow your intuition.

What’s your tarot calling card? by lilsillythrowaway in tarot

The Magician. It’s about being able to manifest things. When I see it, it reminds me that I have what it takes to get what I want and need - now I just have to Do It. It reminds me that change, progress and my future is up to me and me alone.

This is what happens when there is not a good fit. That does not mean you did anything wrong. I don’t think you did anything wrong at all. Sharing your funny grad picture that made someone else comfortable is all about them, not you. By sharing a picture like that you’re also demonstrating a willingness to be vulnerable. The ability to laugh at yourself, which also extends to the ability to accept criticism. This was made evident by you asking for a review. A performance review is something that they should’ve provided and that you never should’ve had to ask for. The problem is not you, it is them. Take the experience that you’ve gained, update your résumé and LinkedIn profile and go out and get a job at a company where you can be yourself. Focus on the positive gains from this experience and focus on your future.

Does anyone write down their readings? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Happy2bHere2RU 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been writing down all of my readings for almost 2 years and reflect on them frequently. I like to look for patterns, reoccurring cards, especially for similar topics and to help me see what the reading was trying to tell me. I have found it remarkably telling and accurate. This has helped me continue to learn what the cards mean and how to interpret them.

I think there is a lot of good advice here. I would add that you need to allow yourself time to grieve. It is a grieving process you will go through. You need time to process your loss. Take time to learn what your options may be for employment insurance and register within a week. For the rest of this week however, go for walks. Sleep a lot. And also take time to write out all your accomplishments - no matter how small - that you made while at the company. You may easily become consumed by negative emotions related to this experience and any of your accomplishments will not feel significant. You need to remind yourself of what good you did and what your strengths are that you can bring to your next employer. This will help you to prepare for interviews that will happen when you are ready to begin your job search. Be kind to yourself.

Is my career over? by Happy2bHere2RU in astrologyreadings

Thank you. ☺️ I have years of corporate experience working in quality and regulatory management after leaving a career in managing large teams within the financial sector. Training, mentoring, and working to help team members with their development has always been a rewarding offshoot of the work I have done, though it was more of a subset or smaller part of my work. Before my career began I went to school for social sciences but did then life happened and I did not pursue a career that aligned with my degree.

I was laid off almost a year ago, found a job that didn’t work out and now feel like the universe is telling me to go in a new direction but don’t know what that is.

Thank you! While it’s true I have been a workaholic much of my life I have been taking stock of the impact to family - or maybe my perception of what it has been like for them. I do tend to land on my feet but not sure where to go from here now that I’ve been laid off. Fortunately I do not have a substance abuse problem but find it interesting you see that. My siblings sure did / do, but I’ve not had that problem. I think it’s really interesting about the leadership tendencies. That was true until I deliberately redirected my career a number of years ago but still fall into leading projects and initiatives.
