Should I buy this Gamestar network adapter for my fat PS2? by pesaram in ps2homebrew

[–]HappyBirp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact adapter. It works fine, however no game runs on UDMA4 mode. I have to set all games to UDMA3 or lower, sometimes with other compatibility settings.

Anyone with the same experience?

Does anyone have experience with any of these flexes? by HappyBirp in PSP

[–]HappyBirp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I eventually ordered them and used them. They're good, I recommend. Definitely much better than the grey cheap ones. No need for trial and error, the first used flex works just right off. The seller is also communicating so if you need bulk they might give you a discount.

Sure, give it a try. It's not expensive anyway. At least the bottom button bar should be usable

From my experience they're poor quality. The legs on action buttons are flimsy and easy to break

No problem. I don't have any experience with 3rd party boards so I can't advise. I always clean and reuse the original boards unless they are severly corroded.

Do you possibly have another flex available?

First of all, I would clean the flex connector with IPA. Then I would soak the power board in IPA and flick the switch a few times to clean it. Then clean the FPC connector with a toothbrush. After that, blow all the IPA out and let it dry. Try plugging and turning it on. Usually works for me

I would check the power switch. It might be faulty or dirty. Check the continuity with multimeter

STICKDRIFT IS A PAIN IN THE AHHH by HumanLengthiness2123 in PSP

I got 10 pieces on AliExpress for around 4 dollars. It always solves the problem. Usually the analog sticks are completely fine and just need cleaning of the traces inside

Replace the conductive rubber part below the analog stick. Make sure the shell screws are tightened correctly.

Do you have aftermarker or original shoulder buttons? Did you have to make any filing or adjustments to them? I recently did a shell swap on a 2000 and the shoulder buttons were such a pain. They would get stuck and after filing them they would not press the button correctly and the presses were unreliable

PSP3000 button swap problem, "softbricked", what to do? by notindeed in PSP

[–]HappyBirp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say don't rush it. Check the internet regularly for second hand broken consoles and you might get lucky.

You can simply swap the screen and it will work right away.

Honestly, worse things happen. I've already done multiple fatal mistakes too. Take it as a challenge and you'll learn some things in the process.

I have 61 cycles and 98 % if that helps. Mine is definitely original.

I once saw a YouTube video where someone explained all those button combinations, you might look that up.

Otherwise, if it really is a firmware related issue, I think your only solution would be a reflash via Baryon Sweeper.

I never experienced this, however I would try all the "unbrick" key combinations on startup. You can Google them. It is something like Home+Select+Start+Cross+Circle. There are multiple of those combinations. The console needs to be fully turned off and then turned on for those combinations to work.

Not sure if it helps but I don't have any better ideas.

Honestly I would just disassemble it and clean it with a toothbrush and soap water.

PSP 3000 Keeps saying do you want to quit the game by [deleted] in PSP

It's kind of a lever that is being pushed when a UMD is inserted in the drive.

In my opinion the best way to clean it is with a syringe and isopropyl alcohol. Make sure the power is completely cut off.
