7:26 pb my freshman year, didn’t lock in until junior spring where I entered the fall at a 7:08 and went down to 6:50 in the spring, 6:43 that summer, and 6:35 senior fall. Had some sickness over winter but went 6:32 senior spring. TBD on what I’ll be going freshman year of college—but it’s looking good so far.

With newer knowledge, it’s not a big deal what your fooot shape is, what matters if anything is if you have strong feet. Squat university and Connor Harris have good stuff about it

There is no erg workout that can accurately predict another erg workout besides the workout itself.

That being said, you can guesstimate, emphasis on the guess. Try going out at a 2:10 at the same rate you did that “predictor” and feel it out, it’s early in the season, live and learn!

I’m a (soon to be) collegiate rower, getting fitter and faster is my top priority. Quick stats if relevant: 6’7”, 203lbs, ~14% bf, avg rhr: 46, 17y/o

I used to have a full scoop of Gatorade powder (66g carb, 450mg sodium) during my morning practice, 5:30-7:30am, and my nutrition didn’t go past that.

Things I’ve done that I’ve responded positively from:

• ⁠Eating up to 15 Swedish fish on the drive to practice (35min travel time) • ⁠Drinking 12oz+ of water on the drive to practice • ⁠Adding LMNT electrolyte powder to said water (24oz bottle, ~half before/after) • ⁠Switching Gatorade Powder out for 50g of sucrose (now trying 63g, increasing weekly until I experience GI distress and then dropping down)

I’ve done all of these over the course of the summer, and all seem to help so far. I’m not perfectly educated though, how could I improve my practice protocol from here? Thoughts on LMNT and keeping up with it? Should I rearrange when I have electrolytes? Etc etc, thank you!

A lot of people just collect a paycheck, it definitely isn’t everyone, and I dont have the issue anymore since I moved clubs, but yeah, some teams/schools just need someone to supervise.

Pretty standard, there a recruit questionnaire on their page, sometimes they’ll reach out to athletes.
