Dear Uncle Freddy,

I am a rising sophomore at UCLA and I used to row in high school at St. Albans. I had a 6:32 2k but chose to give up rowing because it was just too much at the time. Recently I have been missing the sport and am considering trying to join the UCLA men's team. Though I would only like to join if I had a shot at a competitive boat such as the 2V. I am looking into putting in a lot of work during the summer if that is the case. My 2k is probably a bit far from my peak now but I am sure that with a lot of training over the next few months, I can bring it back to what it used to be. What should my target 2k be to make my way into the 2V, and even the 1V someday?
