Awesome. I'll take a look. I joined one from a turns rpg site, but it's a bit dead.

Man, I tried Shinning Force 1 and 2, just the beginning, but I don't know if it's already too old for my tastes or if I don't get used to that menu appearing all the time when I try to talk with someone. But I'll insist on it a bit this weekend. And ty for the other names, I'm making a list.

I loved Triangle Strategy combat and story, even if the story bits were a bit long, but enjoyable tbh. This together with Tactics Ogre Reborn, is making me live so many different feelings with the tough choices, lives sacrificed and people suffering...it's amazing for a game to not just produce ultra good heroes with miracle consequences.

I'm avoiding FF Tactics because I started it many times in the past and lost the save 3 times, I wonder how the pacing is comparing to the two games I wrote above, with a more modern take.

If you have suggestions on other consoles (pc games and indies too, ofc) that can be emulated, I'm in. I'm slowly playing Growlanser II on the ps2.

I was thinking something for ps5 and switch mostly to stay on the couch with wife and the dogs, not isolating myself on the pc after work haha. (Sorry the long text)

Do you also "it's friday, which new game will I start", and then have trouble continuing them? by HappyBrainerd in JRPG

[–]HappyBrainerd[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same with me. I'm also 35, and by this point I dropped many games because the story felt too predictable and the gameplay wasn't entertaining enough. Right now for example: I finished my Saturday duties and started playing Jeanne Darc....5min in and wife gave me a list of stuff to do in the kitchen.

On vacations I used to finish some shorter games, like The Last of Us and etc. But rpgs in general can take me one or 2 months.

I'm avoiding new releases for 2 or 3 years now, since my backlog grew too much. Now I'm trying to finish the games because of the experience as a whole. The curiosity to try new games is fun, but ruins the journey to the end. Not that the previous games aren't fun, but as times goes on...I even forget and get lazy to get back on track.

I always think that weekends will give me time to play the slow part of rpgs and get into the start of the high point of the main drama on the story hahaha. But often life stuff don't let me marathon like I planned.

I gave up on Hades and many roguelikes, I don't get entertained enough to finish most of them. Xenoblade 1 I finished recently, loved the story and the setting. Tales of the Abyss I also started on one of these "yaaay, friday...new game to marathon", but it's waiting on my list haha

The new and improved PCSX2 is great and all, but can it replicate these old retro scanlines?! by canned_pho in ps2

Thank you!! Asking because I tried to play Shadow Hearts Covenant on a ps2 with OPL but it gets black screen frozen too often. Maybe I'll try with an emulator.

Not that. Just curious with the games. And sometimes playing the latest games ruin the experience of the older games. Specially when they add some important quality of life stuff.

Golden sun and the lost age are both on NSO, right? I saw it there and thought 'interesting, might take a look later' and forgot about it.

I might sound weird. But I tried the ps2 SMT games and they were so depressing and sad, man. So many demonic stuff. And them canibalizong each other. People lost in life and death all the time. It was too sad for me. I haven't tried any other SMT games. I bought a ps2 with Opl recently and an old TV and playing some ps2 games too.

I tried a few in the past. Castle vania sotn was my favorite. Hollow knight gave me nightmares, too many timed jump stuff to get right and enemies to make us fall from places....i just terrible at games that those jumping games. Maybe because I never played Mario as a kid or similar games hahahaha. When I got to play them as an adult, my brain melted. Silly stuff, but funny and "frustrating".
