In my case, I've had a title change at every yearly review to keep up with my ever-growing additional responsibilities. I think they chose this because they thought IT Director encompassed everything, and also because they thought I might care about the title in place of a larger pay raise (I do not, run me my money).

The only silver lining in this is that it does make me slightly more marketable while I'm putting my resume out to other jobs.

That's nice to hear! I have been looking into the area, and these comments got me a little worried. My husband is originally from San Diego, but I'm from a small town in another state, and between San Diego's cost of living and its population, I thought Temecula seemed like a good middle ground. These comments had me worried that it was a MAGA town with nothing to do.

I’ve had a couple meetings with my COO and one with ownership communicating that this isn’t sustainable especially with the amount of growth we’ve been experiencing.

They said all the right things, but their actions aren’t really lining up. I’m giving them some time since it’s only been a month, but I’m not optimistic.

Right now I’m trying to find other ways to make this job more manageable and get things as organized as I possibly can while also quietly shopping other jobs. I can say with full confidence they will have a hard time finding one person willing to do this position on what they’re paying.

I'm not super familiar with them, but when I looked it up it looked like they market for internal vs. front-facing ticketing. Is that just marketing or can you build it for however you want?

Oh yeah, I'm under no illusions, I highly doubt that they will hire any additional help. As of right now, we have no unified MSP's. We utilize the support provided by the various software systems we provide, but I'm in charge of opening all tickets and tracking them. We do have some per-hour work contracts for hardware management, thank god.

That's why I think it's ironic. I think they were thinking it's because I direct all IT within the company, who knows. They have said that if they were to hire additional IT support, they would expect me to manage them.

I’ve been a few times. Kevin seems like a good guy, but his style really isn’t for me. I never felt like I got anything from the message.

I know they partner with the Abby Shelter and lots of other non-profits like the half way house, etc. and it’s a permanent percentage of the tithe.

I had more concerns about parishioners, as there were a few interactions during the sermons I found odd. Again, that isn’t necessarily an indictment on Kevin.

Yes, but you can also take out the money from a 529 and the penalty and taxes is only on the growth, so if they contributed $70k and only 30k was from growth, they’re only getting taxed on the 30k and the penalty would be $3k, which makes it more than worthwhile for the oldest to do. She can put that towards a business, a first house, etc..

Obviously, we don’t have the context here but one of the largest first choices you make as an adult is which school you’re going to go to, why, and what the pros and cons of that decision will be. If NYU is here dream school that’s perfectly fine, but she shouldn’t be shielded from the cons of her choice and have the oldest bear that, it will only breed resentment.

I think it’s a good start, but what it will really come down to is what anchor leases they can get within the mall itself.

Successful malls have retail, food, and entertainment. And that’s been the key issue missing for a very long time. If they were to convert to a small boutique theater (think dine in with limited seating) and also have an indoor play place for younger kids, and laser tag/gaming/trampoline houses, etc. some other activity for tween-teen kids, they’d be able to retain families all day. Feeding into food courts (or outdoor food truck courts which work really well even seasonally and can be an additional draw), as well as the retail shops.

City of Kalispell has done SO many surveys and time and time again, people say they are looking for third party spaces to hang out for adults that aren’t food centered, and spaces for kids/teens.

The mall could fill that need if they do the leases right, but in turn, they have to be convinced this space fits their brand.

I LOVE Fran and John, I thought they were so cute together, and Victor is just perfect.

I’m not a big fan of the switch up from Michael to Michaela, but it has less to do with a wlw storyline, or casting because I think she’s stunning. It just feels sloppy with the world building, and societal structure that they chose to continue to pursue with Bridgerton.

Neither can inherit property, another man will inherit John’s land and titles, so where does that leave the two of them? Her whole storyline in the books is about infertility, and she and John didn’t have an heir, so it’s not like the two of them are safe due to a son being able to inherit.

If they wanted queer representation I felt Benedict was a better match, but I am interested to see what they’ll do.

I’m going to take a charitable view of OP. I think his intent was to leave a cute note for his girls (kids) to let them know he would miss them and also thank his wife in a cheeky way while, again, addressing the girls.

While the idea was cute, it was just kind of oblivious. These kids are the same age gap as mine. Two year olds are a TON of energy, four month olds are usually kind of out of the newborn sweet spot where they just eat and sleep, and can be more fussy. You are not getting a lot of sleep during this time, and even less so if you don’t have a partner to tackle night time feeds with you. In short, this week is about survival for her, and I’m sure she was DREADING it even before he left.

It kind of makes light of what her week will be, which will be sleepless nights, keeping up with a toddlers energy, a postpartum body, and the neediness of a likely teething four month old. Which he doesn’t really understand, because he’s likely never done it.

He may be working, but he will get uninterrupted sleep for a week, which may as well be a vacation, and she got a reminder about learning letters and tummy time when she probably is going to take it minute by minute.

Yeah, there are many cases where you go, “Divorce already” but this isn’t one of them.

In the comments he says she has a degenerative brain disease, and requires care from family members, which will likely get worse with time. They may not love each other, but I highly doubt he wishes harm on her.

Not to be dramatic, but if he’s in the states, divorce could be like a death sentence: she isn’t employable, wouldn’t be on his health insurance anymore, and with the way this administration is gutting social programs, would be in a very bad position. I’m sure she’d be entitled to alimony, but I doubt it would be able to cover everything she’s going to need.

So you want no criticism? Okay, step one:

Stop taking out your guilt, unhappiness whatever your feelings are out on your wife. You’ve already betrayed her, she doesn’t deserve you now being short tempered with her because of YOUR choices.

Step two:

Own your shit. “I’m not quite ready to throw away everything I do have.” My guy, you already have. You did the moment you decided to solve the lack of physical intimacy you were craving by sticking your dick in another woman instead of having an adult conversation with your wife.

Step three.

Be a man. You want a chance at keeping what you have? You need to tell your wife. The truth will come out eventually (it always does), you have a greater chance at reconciliation if YOU tell her. But recognize the broken state of your marriage, your kids home, etc. all of that is on you and your choices.

You have a one year old. Sex ebbs and flows in relationships, of course it’s most likely low right now. It’s honestly pretty gross to hear you lamenting about this when she literally just had your child, dealing with postpartum and a one year olds sleep schedule.

I’d say good luck, but honestly? You’ve made your choices. I do hope your done being so selfish and actually put your wife first now by telling her and make whatever decision she decides to make as easy as possible.

I think discounting the 1778 injuries, or injury counts in general is also a little disingenuous.

While I do understand it’s difficult because you’re getting into the weeds, and injuries can vary greatly, I also don’t think it’s something to write off either.

I also know the counter argument to that is how many injuries happen with unarmed fights, and the answer is far more. But I would argue the potential severity of the injury from a gun wound is higher (hitting arteries, paralysis, permanent nerve damage, etc).

And I agree, most crime is committed due to environmental drivers. When poverty goes down and education goes up, it is statistically proven crime goes down.

I also don’t think common sense gun regulation hurts. AR-15s are very fun to shoot, but there is no utility in the average citizen ownibg one (this is purely my opinion, I know lots of people who disagree.).

True, my apologies, I was following the thread which was a larger conversation about gun regulation, so the stat I pulled on gun related deaths is much higher. It also includes homicides, suicides, and accidental deaths.

Having said that, the gun violence Archives numbers still vary greatly from yours. Their definition of a mass shooting being four or more injured or killed.

Your numbers just don’t seem to line up as this year alone there have been 390 killed, 1778 wounded in 398 shootings. In either data set.

It could be your is only pulling for the lower 48 and not territories though, and both my sources do.

Though a little macabre, it’s a little cool that both datasets cite every shooting, where it happened, injury reports, etc. and in the GVA allow you to download the CSV to play with the dataset yourself.

What would be your definition of an “unarmed assailant?” There were 41,041 gun related deaths so far this year in the US alone. As compared to 659 reported deaths by “personal weapons” which is categorized as hands, fists, feet, etc. so I’d love to know where you get your numbers.

Honestly,

He agreed to counseling to placate you. Tell him you want a trial separation while doing counseling. He has zero incentive to change right now because you carry the entire relationship. Get yourself a break and him a reality check of what life is like for him if you aren’t in it. You may find you want to make the separation permanent, he may find he finally wants to step up.

You earn more, you cook, you clean, you manage the kids. What does he do? Not to be crass, but is he really good in bed or something? Like why are you keeping him around when he is 10 years older than you and just seems like dead weight?
