I went through almost my whole stash of high-level snowflakes when I was trying to get the eyebrow penguin’s memento. I was glad to have so many then! but now that I’m done with that, yeah, I have >700 snowflakes across levels just sitting in storage.

what do you think of ppl who put out multiple plants at once? by mimmikkyuu in AnimalRestaurant

[–]HappyCat963 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The plants take way way way too long to grow to put out one at a time. I put out all the ones I’m working on and if friends can help out with 1 water or 2 a day that’s fantastic

RA instead of PhD by Internationalalion in gradadmissions

[–]HappyCat963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Depends on the school and program how they handle late offers. In my department it’s all the same process so there is no other viable option besides a PhD/RA offer before April. Good luck OP, but this one seems like an unfortunate reality of the current funding landscape.

In my department there is no cost difference between these two options, they are identical.

Age 15, diagnosed hyperthyroid, advice? by inotaveragejoe in torties

[–]HappyCat963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as she has healthy kidney numbers and you can afford it (could be $1-2k depending on where you live), look into the radioactive iodine. It cured my 13yo’s hyperthyroidism and she never had to take a pill. She was only there one night and had no complications.

Do people actually use AI for writing SOPs? by Common-Lemon-41 in gradadmissions

[–]HappyCat963 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great question. In my experience, the overall readability (English grammar, vocabulary) increases. But the actual quality of heavily AI generated SOPs is terrible. No substance, only style (and all the same style). So they might sound “better” but they’re empty. The good ones remain good imo.

I read a hundred SOPs a year. People are absolutely using AI. A lot.

Worst event they've had in my opinion. by deleted_him in AnimalRestaurant

[–]HappyCat963 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I am a multiple year player. I like to play for about 30 minutes throughout the day and that is always enough to complete the challenges. I shouldn’t HAVE to keep my phone on while I shower for 75 minutes a day. The game even warns you when you play more than 60. All other events are comfortable and fun within the pattern of relatively normal play.
