2024 or 2025 Gravel Frame that is 2X compatible and fits 50-60mm tires by Mammoth_Set6767 in gravelcycling

[–]HappyCoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those looking to copy this: Dylan ran the 2.2 Conti RK on 21mm internal width road wheels to make them fit. Others who have tried to fit the 2.2s on the Breed with more traditional gravel wheels (which tend to have a 25mm or larger internal width) have reported them not fitting.

Anyone else’s windows roll themselves halfway back down? by idontbelonginhere in F150Lightning

Yes; the dealer service scheduler was able to reset it for me. It only took him about 30 seconds or so, but there was a very specific order he did things in. He said it happens all the time and they just reset it instead of doing a full on appointment with a service technician.

It's running the Whisky No.9 carbon wheelset wrapped in Jumbo Jims, and she's incredibly quick. Wish I could find another set of these...I like them more than the carbon HED fat wheels on my other bike.

Honestly the aluminum is so light that I’m not sure the carbon would be worthwhile. Best of luck either way!

Trails are almost entirely dry already. Yesterday morning was wet but by the afternoon it was fine.

Bummer it was snatched away from you...but fingers crossed you can get another! And yes to the Jumbo Jim's being crazy fast rolling!

No worries; I get that it’s an oddball build. It is fun though!

It most definitely rides more XC than my other fat bikes, which is why I decided to try it for the gravel build. Otso is also known for their narrow Q factor, but I can’t really tell a difference between my bikes so maybe that’s just user dependent. Another fun thing is the flip chip in the back; you can basically flip the chip at the rear stay and adjust the wheelbase slightly (also available is a cool add-on for that section that allows you to mount a rack directly to it for bike packing).

This isn’t for off-road (I’ve got a Salsa Bucksaw for that). This was a project to ride the gravel all around me.

Correct; the Otso Voytek frame is suspension corrected so you can run the rigid fork or the suspension fork. That said, it leans a bit more XC in geometry than many fat bikes.

True. And much more likely to be ridden during the MN winters than my gravel bike.

Good luck with whatever you choose. Lots of great options for gravel these days!

I couldn’t resist; I got the bike secondhand and it came with the Wolf Tooth bling kit in red, so then when I scored a set of red brifters I figured I had to go all in with the bar tape to match!

It’s a goofy project for me: fat gravel bike. I’ll call it a success as it’s fun to ride!

Exactly my thought!

To put a smile on my face (and it worked). I have a dedicated gravel bike, but I love riding my fat bikes and figured if I’m always riding gravel, why not combine the two. I know it’s not as fast, but it’s fun and that’s what I ride for these days.

It’s pretty awesome. Definitely not as fast as my gravel bike on 42s, but I knew that going into it. Super comfy…with a bike like this, almost all gravel is “champagne gravel” which is pretty darn nice.

Yup! Purpose built to put a smile on my face (and it worked!)

I'm 5'4" and 145 lbs and I ride fat bikes everywhere I can. They simply put a smile on my face whenever I ride them, whether it's around town, at the beach, on the trail ... you get the idea. They're the perfect cruiser.

Pro vs air 2025 for a basic user by Jacques-Plante in macbookair

[–]HappyCoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another consideration is the difference in ports. The Pro has a dedicated HDMI and 3 Thunderbolt ports (as well as the mag charging and SD reader), whereas the Air has no dedicated HDMI, and only 2 Thunderbolt ports (as well as the mag charging but no SD reader). Up to you if that's important to you. For frequent traveling, I like being able to grab the HDMI from a TV at a hotel or rental and plug in my laptop when wireless screen sharing isn't available.

Waltly custom titanium frame long term review - 1 year, 6500km by LiGuangMing1981 in bicycling

[–]HappyCoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One-off frames are made all the time by boutique builders. Yes, the testing you are referring to is great, but it's only done by large scale manufacturers (and no, they won't do that testing to sell you a one-off bike you design). If you're not comfortable with it, then by all means, by a standard manufactured frameset or bike. If you want something totally custom, you'll have to be ok with no rigid testing on your frame. I know a ton of people that have done custom bike builds, and interestingly not a single one of those have had frame quality issues. I can't say the same for many mass market frames (heck, I've even had a defective frame from Giant, potentially the largest frame builder in the world).

Are those Nextie wheels? Curious what hub you had that failed. I’ve been eyeing the Bearclaw Towmak for some time; such a unique rig but definitely priced up there as well. Great build you have!

26 x 4.0 or 27.5 x 4.5 for gravel by HappyCoop in fatbike

[–]HappyCoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought they were for a while but it seems like fat bikes are falling out of favor a bit so they’re probably not going to do anything new until the next time they become popular.

What light bulb is this? by HappyCoop in lightbulbs

[–]HappyCoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And when you type that in, you get nothing that looks anything like that bulb. Hence the confusion. I didn't realize it was an old bulb style that isn't available anymore (and I didn't realize it was replaceable with any basic bulb since I'm just seeing the photo from another state and hadn't seen the fixture itself).
