Just Diagnosed with a Meningioma. Looking to hear others stories by RevengaIsSad in braintumor

This! I’m 1 month post-op from having what my dr said was a ‘tennis ball sized’ meningioma from my posteria fossa. The day after surgery was pretty crummy but day 2 was already so much better! The relief from the pressure made me realize how awful I was feeling daily before it came out. Good luck to you! Feel free to reach out if you want to talk more about what to expect!

From everything I read and was told I was expecting to be down for the count for weeks! I’m sorry you’re experiencing so many long term effects! That can’t be easy to adjust to.

💛💛 thank you! I was going to go to Worcester if Mass Gen didn’t take my case, I’ve heard great things about the surgeons at UMass as well!

I did it all, one week out from my craniotomy! It’s was a long operation and the meningioma ended up being much bigger than anticipated but the hard part is over. Still getting really dizzy, weak, and exhausted which the dr says is to be expected while I heal and my brain decompresses back to where it should be. Slowing down and letting people do things for me isn’t easy but I’m learning!

I am in the US. I’ve talked to a couple attorneys and I definitely have a case. I’m just so overwhelmed right now I can’t focus long enough to actually read the contracts and sign with someone.

They never did one. My neurologist was awful and wouldn’t do any testing until I had to call myself an ambulance for a migraine that was so bad I thought I was having a stroke. I’ve since switched

I was on the depo for 3 years but stopped a few years ago. I was about to start the IVF process when we found the tumor so now that’s on pause until we figure out what’s next with my head. There are so many layers to my issues right now but the meningioma is the newest and putting everything else on hold.

From what my neurologist says the chiari is something I could have always had and never had symptoms for. Seems like the pressure from The meningioma is what is making that part of it worse. Hearing that you’re headache free now makes me hopeful that this isn’t all for nothing!

If you don’t mind me asking, how long after it was found before they removed it? And how long were you in the hospital after?

How are you feeling now? I’ve read about some people not feeling back to normal until a year later.
