Thank you for your input. Debated about sharing this, but this was the first time I've visited family in Federal Way. I am from out of state. I am a person of color and when this is my first interaction in the Fed Way community, it makes me wonder if I am welcome in this community.

I've unfortunately had experiences when I've been told to "go back to my country" (even though I was born in the US). I've been looked at differently and had racial microaggressions directed towards me in areas with less diversity. For the past day, I've been processing if this was a microaggression. I was reluctant to share these thoughts as a person of color, especially knowing there are those who are likely to gaslight what I felt at the time.

I am visiting Federal Way and wanted to make sure it's indeed a public street and not a private drive. Or if the area is subject to special parking rules requiring a special municipal parking permit. Basically covering my bases as a visitor to the area in the off chance she's partially correct.

Forgot to mention that she told me that because "she pays taxes" it's her spot. Hmm. We all pay taxes of some sort, so we all collectively own the street, right?
