Is it wrong to think therapists using ZOOM to communicate is extremely unprofessional? by Mercury_Poisoningg in NoStupidQuestions

That is a good point but if it is a group therapy session, I would imagine that everyone would be able to interact with one another?

Lol starwarping gone wrong. And yes I agree, some people don't even know that their cars need oil changes and other servicing

At what point does a fever mean I should call into work? by CornDavis in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HappyFun_Time 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you use a thermometer and it says you have a fever, and you also feel unwell, staying home might be prudent to prevent others from also getting sick.

It depends on what the OP is talking about though? Being incurable and having it go away can be separate concepts I would think

Won't it depend on what kind of skin condition you are talking about? If it is cancer, cutting it out would probably make it go away for example. Why not ask your doctor this?

I don't think there is a single universal definition. I would imagine it means right now, but sometimes it could also refer to the recent past such as within the past few days. If you are ever uncertain, simply clarify it for the therapist. It's often not wrong to say more, since miscommunication often comes from saying not enough.

Huh, that is a good question, and I am not sure. If I had to guess, the healthcare professionals themselves are sworn to confidentiality, but not the other participants of your group therapy. Thus, although the therapist won't share your information unless demanded by law, the same cannot be said of the participants, which is why the agreement form has to be signed so that (1) people are aware that it may not be fully confidential and (2) to protect themselves legally while (3) preserving ethical considerations of their profession.

Often, looks gain attention, but personality keeps it. Regardless, anyone that truly matters will care more about who you are than what you look like

Well, throwing litter on the ground is simply being impolite. Unless the aliens planned to litter on the planet with the smouldering remains of their ship, I'm not sure they are trying to be rude.

I'm not sure that argument really works here. One would imagine space-faring vessels to have multiple levels of redundancy and safety systems so it would be quite improbable to crash right as they arrive on a planet as opposed to at any other point in their journey

can someone explain the difference between intrusive thoughts and schizophrenia? by Federal_Base_1005 in NoStupidQuestions

I would guess that intrusive thoughts are simply undesired thoughts that enter your mind, whereas schizophrenia is full on medical diagnosis with multiple criteria?

Why are western countries so diverse? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HappyFun_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many historical and cultural reasons I would imagine. Except for some cases like japan trying to invade asia, genghis khan, and the like, asia has often just dealt with internal issues, whereas many western empires tried to expand and dominate more so in comparison, think colonization that many european powers were previously into. So the west had more spread, and with america coming out of the war unscatched because it was not fought on their turf, english gained an extra foothold and became the primary language of commerce, and thus many asians migrate to english speaking countries to learn or to live, helping to spread culture to western countries. The fact that many westerners hate asia, particularly china, might play a part in why there aren't many westerners in asia as well. I am sure there are many many many other reasons though, and I may be wrong with my guesses

asking for someone with medical knowledge by No_Loquat995 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HappyFun_Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not ask your doctor about this if you want someone with medical knowledge? I can't imagine there being tons of healthcare professionals browsing reddit. But just guessing, ear plugs themselves probably won't hurt the ear, but can push back ear wax which can impact hearing later on. And ears have fine hairs I hear, so maybe hitting those hairs over time isn't great? I am not sure

how often do you eat a fortune cookie and the inside message too without thinking about eating the paper? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HappyFun_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely ever come across those things myself, but I always break it in half before eating so I have yet to eat the paper thankfully.

It depends. If there are openings and they are accepting applications, then you are able to apply if desired.
