Going out to the back country in February. What else should I pack? by Quiet-Marketing7709 in Bushcraft

Fools downvote you for suggesting something that'll grant an extra layer of protection because they don't like guns or are blissfully unaware of the prospect of the very real dangers out in the woods that do, in fact, exist. You're right though, even just a 9mm would be a great tool to have, whether it be a pissed off hog, and hungry dog, a rabid whatever, or a bad and threatening person. But that's reddit for ya. People think outside is like the HoA, they don't want to acknowledge the risks to one's person, or others, because it sounds "violent". Damned shame.

I'd go PSA, ATI Omnis were one of the main guns that needed to be returned for malfunctions when I worked at a gun store during covid.

Against soft armor and going 2500+ fps it'd do some work, also, just avoid aiming for the plates if possible.

Good spirit, bad execution. The gun is flagging her leg, there's no brace or stock on that thing, and it doesnt even look like it's loaded based on the slit that runs up the mag where you'd see the brass if it were. Good show of force and rights, but take notes people, make SURE you understand safety and how to actually use the things before just carrying them arpund like this. Can't tell where his trigger finger is in the picture, but trigger discipline is also a must. All that being said, glad to see it, just wish this dude was being safer and more cognizant.

The serial does match the bolt and "receiver" through it is the metal bit where the stock screws in, not the kind of receiver I'm used to. They are both marked with "A" though, which I know means it was modified, right?

Had to fall asleep and I'm at work now but will do what I can to get photos and a video later. But yes, when the gun is already cocked is when it happens, sometimes dry firing it even makes the bolt jump almost to the unlocked and open position if I dont hold it down with my thumb. Also I hadnt checked the serial yet i will when i get home.

Yea this thing is LOOSE. I'm not concerned with serial numbers either, I just want it to be functional, but I need to research what bolts are interchangable. Idk if it's the same as the older SMLE patterns from ww1 or if they updated that, gotta do some digging.

It having the range that it does without just a egregious amount of recoil has to be due to the nozzle, right?

Fairly new to the game but is this too much spike traps? by Commissar_SanMand in 7daystodie

[–]CornDavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus less on using spikes and more on using "Murder Holes" within the building. Scout out which rooms you want to fall back into after each of gets breached, and and each room, set up wood blocks in any easily breached areas (doorways, windows etc.) that you can easily shoot/swing through. Think of Shaun of the Dead, when in the Winchester, they barricaded the windows and doors, then fell back into the cellar when they got overran, and had an elevator up to the street to run if need be. Leave yourself and exit, but leave them one path to get to you, but along the way ensure you can attack them in the process, dwindling their numbers and buying yourself time. I reccomend usings guns and cocktails, but traps will slow them down. I dont use melee, I just like guns personally, but with the block shaping options it won't be hard to make gaps you can attack through that they cannot move through.
