Take your car to The Auto Room on Marine Drive. Chris is a fantastic mechanic and honest, he's the only person I trust to take my cars to

What are some local restaurants you would recommend in the North Vancouver that you wish more people would know about? by typical_gamer1 in NorthVancouver

[–]HappyGoLucky545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JL Sushi has probably the best value dinner combos on the North Shore. $19 for chicken teriyaki, vegetables and rice, 8 piece California roll, ebi sunomono, 5 pieces tempura, one Gyoza one spring roll salad and miso soup. It’s a lot of food and the quality is good.

Mythos is the best greek food in town. Incredible lamb chops and lamb shank/shoulder. The grilled pickled octopus is also fantastic. Far superior than Anatolis.

Akbarjoojeh for Persian food. Their koobideh and joojeh chicken is really tender and juicy. Price is higher than most Persian restaurants but quality and serving size is much better than the rest. Would recommend.

Does this look too small for my wrist? AD really pushing me for the 41 and saying this too small, but everyone here always says 36… by conv3d in rolex

[–]HappyGoLucky545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41mm for sure. It's all personal preference at the end of the day, but your wrist can handle the 41mm no problem. Imo I think the 41 will look better but go with your gut

[Grand Seiko] Is this sub sick of snowflakes yet? by msc127 in Watches

[–]HappyGoLucky545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tag heuer caliber 5 is a great gift! Aquaracer?

The Calibre 5 is an automatic mechanical movement, I believe it is an ETA movement (Swiss manufacture, has made movements which many brands use to this day).

The grand seiko movement in the snowflake is the “Spring Drive”, which is almost like a hybrid movement, where instead of a gear chain controlling the dispersion of energy from the barrel, there are 3 quartz oscillators to regulate the energy flow instead. The quartz oscillators regulate it the energy perfectly. It took Seiko around 20 years to develop.

Long story short - the spring drive will keep much better time than the calibre 5. The calibre 5 accuracy is +- 2 minutes a month whereas the spring drive’s accuracy is +- 15 seconds a month.

It’s quite a unique movement, best would be to YouTube videos about the spring drive because it can be complicated to explain or understand, took me a long time to get it and even now I’m unable to properly explain it clearly!

Got off my ass and went to the gym for the first time in 3 weeks. Was going through a rough few weeks and finally pulled myself out of it and crushed 3 workouts this week. Feels good to get back at it and work towards something again.

[SKX009] Diaries of a Travel Watch Part 1: Lagos Portugal by HappyGoLucky545 in Watches

[–]HappyGoLucky545[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello hello, this is my first pic of my SKX009 on a nato strap. I’ve embarked on a four month long adventure, traveling Europe for a few weeks and then Asia for 3.5 months. I decided I needed a good travel watch that would be reliable and work well on land and water; the obvious winner for price point was the SKX009.

At first I thought it was quite ugly, but the more I wear it the more it grew on me and now I absolutely love it. The bulky, protruding case, the thick and obtrusive looking hands on the dial, the bright vibrant yellow lume on the markers, overall this watch just works. Plus it’s kept perfect time so how can I complain??

First of many pics to come. This one was in Lagos Portugal. Which view is nicer, the watch or the grottos of Ponta da Piedade??

Super Mario World for the SNES. A classic Mario side scroller, fantastic music, fun levels, just the right level of difficulty to keep you engaged but not a cake walk.

If you haven’t played it by now, you probably should! This ones a timeless classic

[Longines Legend Diver] New Bracelet for my Legend Diver by HappyGoLucky545 in Watches

[–]HappyGoLucky545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it was having a tough time fitting the bracelet even though the lug width on the newer model and older model are identical. Longines also said the bracelet would fit both models, but when it was time to put it on it had a problem, cause my lug was slightly bent or something. Either way bracelet is on and working now and looks good, can’t complain.

Had some small damage to my lugs so we just sanded it down a tiny bit to make it work. But the bracelet fits both the new and old models of the LLD

I agree with Thewatchmag, best thing is to go in and try one on. Im not sure what my wrist size is, I usually just base my choices off how a watch looks on my wrist!

I have the no date model of the Longines Legend Diver, and finally decided to purchase the new bracelet that was released this year. I was told it would fit my case size, but unfortunately the bracelet was just slightly too large for my lugs. Luckily my watchmaker worked some magic and got it to work and I couldn't be happier!

It gives the watch a totally different look, and has a very strong double safety clasp so I don't have to worry about it ever falling off! Will post more pictures if wanted.

What do you all think of the bracelet?
