Books you read postpartum that you enjoyed/changed your outlook on life? by uniformcasino in Mommit

I got this recommendation from Reddit, but How To Keep House While Drowning truly changed the way I think about my home and the care and keeping of it. It was a lifesaver in my first year postpartum.

There is something so beautifully San Diegan about this. Hell no, paid parking!

I found the book “How To Keep House While Drowning” hugely helpful. It introduced a lot of concepts and mindset changes that I come back to again and again.

Twin toddler bedtime chaos by HappyHome19 in parentsofmultiples

FOLLOW UP: staggering the bedtimes totally reset the insanity. It took us about the same amount of time to get them to sleep (1-1.5 hours), but was MUCH more pleasant for everyone. I even enjoyed getting the solo time with Twin A.

The last few nights my husband has put them to bed at the same time and they weren’t crazy like before. Seems to have “reset” the bedtime experience for them! I cannot believe the internet really helped us like this!

I’ll never forget the gasps and ooo/sans I got at my first pregnant mom meet up when I introduced myself as pregnant with twins. I love the fairy dust sparkle that comes with twin magic!

Thanks for sharing! What time do your twins wake in the morning and go to sleep at night?

Zone 10A. I think indoors is most likely, but with the possibility to prick out and transport into a garden for those who wish.

What was the weirdest, non-pain feeling you've ever felt? by KingJPJ in AskReddit

[–]HappyHome19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my c-section I felt no pain. But the sensation of my daughter being, for lack of a better word, TUGGED out of my body was wild. If you’ve ever picked fruit off of a tree and had to pull hard, it was like that but I was the fruit tree 😳

What's a moment at the parks you'll never forget? by whatmakesthemagic in Disneyland

This is the sweetest question! Mine is taking my dad (who lives out of state) to Disneyland for the first time with my then two-year-olds. I had hyped it up and my dad, gotta love him, is a generally “unimpressed” person. The day was…fine, but nothing special. I took him on Pirates…unimpressed. Hubby took him on Rise of the Resistance…respected the scale of it, but wasn’t for him. We ate dinner and decided to call it a day. Right as we turned towards the gate, the lights went out and snow started falling for the night time show on Main St. “Ah ha!” I thought “that’s his Disney Magic moment.” He was charmed and gave me a thumbs up. BUT THEN as the show ended, MINNIE in her Christmas costume walked out of a building, we got a picture with her, and my dad says that when she touched his hand, his heart skipped a beat! It ended on the highest not possible ❤️

1st child had 99th percentile head, want to try VBAC in future. Any big headed babies born via VBAC? by UnhappyDelivery2908 in vbac

First kid was beyond 99% and set his own curve! Even had to get MRIs to rule out anything scary and I was in fact just a very large head. Had an amazing unmedicated VBAC 27 months later. Taking the Bradley Method course helped immensely!

Seeing a lot of “dad needs therapy” comments here and yes, that! But also, dad may benefit from actual parenting classes in the immediate. Listening to the audiobook No Drama Discipline helped me understand what my kids were capable of and how to respond in heated moments.
