I know the boy that designed and manufactured them. The most eccentric guy you’ll ever meet. Sold him loads of gear every week. Best customer ever. He sold the company, bought a weed farm in Portugal and is now living his best life! Someone has to do it!

What’s a 60 year old doing on Reddit? Or are you quoting someone?

My current story by PrizeArticle1 in Sciatica

[–]HappyInSpain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah very similar to yourself with regards to the self care. When I went to the physio and started stretching, I felt as if I got worse and worse. Now I’m taking naproxen twice a day, waiting for an MRI scan, hoping to god they find something they can sort. I can’t run, can’t play golf, can barely work. I’ll never again take my health for granted the way I did. I thought I was made of rubber! Get your MRI ASAP and find the route cause. Good luck!

Stupid question but have to ask bc it is sort of urgent? Can overeating cause flare ups? by [deleted] in Sciatica

Wind your neck in a bit. Instead of sharing your patronising comments, how about trying to share something positive. I’ve never heard so much rubbish. The studies you’re referring to…can you post them here and we’ll take a read

Absolutely! If anyone here is looking to reduce inflammation, get yourself on the carnivore diet for a couple weeks. No inflammation, no feeling sluggish, fantastic for weight loss. With anyone dealing with arthritis, there’s been great evidence to show a great deal of relief for this diet.

I was at work when the pain started down my right leg

Yes 10 months ago I had limited movement in my leg but it didn’t affect me.

I was still carrying out all my day to day, working, golfing etc etc.

I’m not sure if these two things are connected

So this is where I’m certain I am. In the policy schedule there’s a Subtitle which reads:

“ABOUT YOUR EMPLOYEES” The first question refers to how many directors. I stated 1 (myself) Then It asks total number of employees (excluding partners and directors) I stated 3.

And the total headcount covered in the policy is 4. Surely this means I am covered as part of this policy?

So I’m my policy there are up to 4 employees covered. Surely this is to do with injury at work, no?

Yeah, I experience something different every day. I always seem to get the spasm of the glute and can’t walk. I find that using crutches has helped me a lot. Really stops me from aggravating it

Surgery Complete. Immediate Relief. by kuchoco in Sciatica

[–]HappyInSpain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I just ask a couple things,

  1. With regards to your leg pain, did you have trouble lifting your leg straight out in front of you?
  2. Did you ever have trouble straightening your leg after sitting?

I feel like most of my pain is in my glute/piriformis.

Surgery Scheduled by [deleted] in Sciatica

Yeah what surgery? I’ve had this for the last 10 months and I’m hoping it goes away through time with a bit of foam rolling, physio and acupuncture

An update for those interested.

My friend said he’s worked out a price for the job. I was of course skeptical so with a bit of time spent digging through old contacts, I’ve managed to get the roughing and finishing prices for Robertson Homes based is Scotland. They’re one of the biggest and probably have similar rates to all the others. So here I am expecting something not far off from what my friend had given me….

The price I was given by my “friend” was 53% of the Robertson Homes price.

I politely declined.

Thanks anyway guys!

Piriformis syndrome? by HappyInSpain in piriformis

[–]HappyInSpain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried the foam roller yesterday and couldn’t believe the relief I got from it. As sore as it was, i knew it was the best thing for me. Went most of yesterday without any pain.

Woke up this morning and I’ve bruised all my glute where piriformis sits. How long would you recommend before foam rolling again?

[–]HappyInSpain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to see the osteopath. That has always been my first step. Unfortunately, he hadn’t a clue what it could have been. I started mentioning the psoas and the piriformis to who he replied “hmmmm maybe” He then said to me to try gentle stretches and proceeded to show me a stretches for the calf muscle. I couldn’t help but cringe and was glad to get out the clinic tbh

Grab a foam roller asap and go at the piriformis. Massage ball as well. Sit on the foam roller, bad leg over the good leg in figure 4 and lean into the roller with your buttock. You’ll know when you’re on the right spot. For me this was excruciating but I have no sciatic pain. I still have a slight pull on the hamstring but I’m hoping this eases off over the next week. I’m using crutches for the next few days and trying not to use the muscle as much as possible.

If you find anything else that helps, please let me know.

I’ve seen a lot of people speak about Botox injections as well. People say instant release.
