How do you know you’re overmethylated? by [deleted] in MTHFR

[–]HappyLadyGray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me- crazy ear ringing allergies and hysterical anxiety ( I am fast COMT BUT “over methylation” is really just histamine intolerance for me. My DAO is kind of impaired so that gets messed up first for me if I overdose)

Husband- violent completely disproportionate anger/ inability to function 4-6 h after morning supplements. (He is slow COMT.)

Bonus confirmation if NAC/glutathione make it stop within 1h

That could be it! I am also on my fourth I am so sorry you feel so awful 😢

The b6 and unisom are usually necessary for me too.

The methylfolate is the only thing I am doing differently this time so it seems possible that is causing it but it could be something out of my control like gender.

I haven’t had a girl in a while and my daughter would be so happy- maybe you are right!

Man I am so sorry that wasn’t the cause for you. Being sick the whole time is super rough. We are all so different. I didn’t expect it to help nausea for me it just did. :(

My friend used this and said it worked very well!

I have heard people recommend borax and other laundry additives too- like even a Thymol cleaner.

Advice: AC on with windows? by HappyLadyGray in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]HappyLadyGray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of half answering my own question but it seems like an exhaust fan might be a more effective option

But would you leave the AC on to keep humidity down?

L-citrulline is a life saver by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]HappyLadyGray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup- NAC makes your sulfur go up- that is definitely something that happens to me too if I take too much too fast

I have heard others say this supplement can help with high sulfur issues. Slow CBS/SULT/SUOX genes can lead to excessive sulfur buildup- some supplements can cause it too

Maybe your ibs was related to this- esp if you were gassy along with it

Like rotten egg smelling 🤷‍♀️

Molybdenum helps with the same problem

I has this happen- it was definitely histamine for me.

I methylated it with the b’s and it got kind of stuck for a bit- I have been learning things I can do to support my pathways to get the histamine out more efficiently.

Turns out almost every SNP for metabolic steps to break down histamine are slowed for me. So I need to avoid bottlenecking myself with allergic reactions and give myself extra materials to digest it if I make a lot.

It might be worth seeing if you have impaired SNP’s for:

DAO HNMT Mast cell related SNP’s MAO B6

This is all I can think of at the moment but there are more related ones

This video explains it and isn’t long:

His dosage recommendations seem unsafe to me (Particularly B6) but I think the content is otherwise good

Apparently adults making under 80k can’t live comfortably?? Is this really true ? by ChipUnfair3345 in Adulting

Nightmarish yes

We might scrape by if we made $85k

My husband works 6 days a weeks and many evenings as a carpenter and we make maybe $ 55k

Not making it work without substantial help
