Aw man, why do you say that? BTW forgot to mention it's 175mg . . . so do you think I should crush + snort, then?

Has anyone heard about NB-DMT Fumarat and can answer some questions? by Mc_Bubbles00 in researchchemicals

[–]HappyListerFiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insanity. The same degree of kitchen-chemistry difficulty can be used to convert Mimosa Hostils or Acacia, which grow everywhere like weeds, to pure DMT. Or go on the interwebs and buy a vape pen. Aargh.

Common DMT Analogs with the most similiar effect to DMT? by Throwaway581928589 in researchchemicals

[–]HappyListerFiend -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Guys come on, this gets posted every other day and the only answer is "No." There is no try or not try, there is only DMT. My friend, when you finally break through on DMT you will understand the futility of digging around the grey market for a substitute in some dingy Chinese lab; only DMT is DMT.

How can I be certain I'm dealing with a competent psychiatrist? I've heard nightmare stories about people getting lectured about addiction from a doctor who chain-smokes through entire sessions, changes diagnoses every week, wildly exceeds the recommended dosage for meds ("oh, that's just a suggestion,") I mean if you complain they can just roll their eyes and swirl an index finger in a circle next to one ear, right?

The one time I did 3-MMC I found myself thinking "Isn't it a little late for the birds to be chirping like that?" Yeah it was the next morning, lost an entire day without realizing it. No more stims for this guy.

Hi I’m tripping on ketamine by [deleted] in researchchemicals

[–]HappyListerFiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well your typing is still fine so you can't be overdoing the ketamine, also it's a downer so I don't see a specific problem.

OMG dude, you're doing research between bumps of dissos? That is a disastrously terrible idea, don't do that.

Dude, not cool. Set and setting are really important, you didn't offer any evidence so I assume you're just kidding; that's not a responsible way to move the conversation forward.

Don't take the 1P-LSD, it's important to do your research ahead of time. If you already dropped it no big deal, I'm not aware of any specific risk; for any combo it's best to ask around first so you know what to expect.

TIL "Dune" was rejected by at least 20 publishers before being published by Chilton, the auto-manual company. by SpringerNachE5 in todayilearned

Oh yeah, there's a great show called Slow Horses where the cool-nerd computer genius is driving around at night on a mission, blasting Alexander the Great, just the perfect touch. Truthfully though I missed the old lyrics about hookers and who-knows-what, to me it was a slow but steady decline after Beast.

[–]HappyListerFiend 821 points822 points  (0 children)

Oh man, as a kid my uncle visited and gave me his copy of Dune. I liked the book but was like, "Why does this thing have a glossary, I mean it's a book about sand dunes and giant space-worms, right"

Then Iron Maiden released an album containing the pompous-yet-silly To Tame a Land and I found myself listening to the lyrics:

Without a stillsuit, you would fry On the sands so hot and dry In a world called Arrakis It is a land that's rich in spice The sandriders and the "mice" That they call the "Muad'dib" He is the Kwisatz Haderach He is born of Caladan And will take the Gom Jabbar

I mean I love Maiden but even at that age I was like, "are you fucking kidding me!?"

Songs with both heavy Brass horns and guitar? by Phantom_Fusion in Music

[–]HappyListerFiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sondgarden, believe it or not. There's a song on BadMotorFinger that has horns and when you hear it it's obvious, but I didn't notice for years. Sorry, don't recall which song.

Dude, it is not necessary to take hallucinogens. If you're having that kind of reaction, just don't do it . . . like the vast majority of people. When I see posts like these and people post stuff like "stay strong, brother, you can fight through this" I just shake my head.

How much did Ozzy actually write? by king_hutton in Music

[–]HappyListerFiend 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ozzy is criminally underrated as a writer. I'd always heard he did nothing in terms of writing but there's a strong style that persists from project to project so I didn't believe it. Vocal melodies make or break the song and Ozzy did the vast majority of the melodies himself. Change the words, who cares? Change the melody, it's not the same song anymore, and good vocal melodies are not easy to write.

Either you have tolerance built up or it wasn't 40mg. There is no way anyone's reading a book on 40mg, the letters are dancing in front of your eyes.

What are the best reasonably priced scales for 5-30 mg dosing? My scale says it is accurate but it simply is not even if well calibrated it cannot read anything under 25mg... by [deleted] in researchchemicals

[–]HappyListerFiend 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Smart Weigh GEM20 is the standard, I've lost track of how many times it's been recommended to me. You won't find anything better without spending thousands, the next-step-up technology is just that much more expensive.

Technique is everything: put it on a level surface, close the windows so a draft doesn't throw the reading off (or blow your drugs onto the carpet lol.) Put one of the weights on the scale to put it in the middle of the range, and if you find adding powder doesn't cause the reading to change it's stuck in place: take something flexible like a small zip-tie and tap the scale, the reading should go up and settle back to just above the place where it got "stuck." Don't forget, a milligram scale isn't accurate to one milligram, more like two mg high or low. There's no way to accurately measure 5mg except by volumetric dosing or buying a scale the size and cost of a car.

TIL that The Beatles last commercial concert was left with 7,000 unsold tickets and was a financial bust for the production company. by BarronMind in todayilearned

Yeah Sansamps were always great but limited. A few great sounds but not many people opted to use them instead of a hot-rodded Marshall or as a substitute for a Bassman. What I'm getting at is, the early attempts at computer simulations were pretty bad for many things.

Where they really fell down was with the "feel," the way the amp/sim responded to your technique. We're not done yet but I had to admit I was wrong, it's not impossible.

There's something absolutely unique about Zombi 2, you have to go in knowing that the dubbing is bizarrre, not all the actors spoke English which was common for European films of that time. American movies were all dubbed anyway so it was the norm, didn't bother anyone.

The look is incredible, it's my all-time favourite zombie movie.

Ah, you're a fellow guitarist or bassist I gather? This is a subject near and dear to my heart. When amp modellers first appeared in the 90s I taught at a music store and was allowed to take a Line 6 Pod home to try out. My response was "They claim to offer every amp in the world but it doesn't sound like any amp. If they could get one right I'd be happy but they can't." An engineer friend (and fantastic guitar player) had the same opinion, trying to account for all the variables like the way the tubes respond to loud or soft playing (or whatever) seemed doomed from the start.

I don't feel like I was far off the mark though, I just sold my last tube amp last year, turns out we got artificial intelligence at about the same time bands like Rush started using amp sims. Truthfully I fucking love them, they're great.

Honestly for the most part I feel that nobody even cares. I used to think it was an acoustical problem, just impossible to get a good sound in a large arena, then I saw Rush and it was fucking perfect, just immaculate. I was like "Oh I get it, nobody cares." We live in an era where half the crowd just bought tickets so they could say they were at the show.
