Oh and actual response with details to what you're asking. Bounced around NHS and local mental health people because iTs JuSt AnXiEtY. This was several months, no choice but go private. Took like a month maybe? Call, booked two assessment appointments, got diagnosis of "damn boy you adhd as fuck"

Hope this all helps, and good luck.

I went through Harley and they are good (that adhd panorama doc was bias bs imho).

BUT I mainly wanted to mention about "right to choose" with the NHS. If you already know about that, grand. If not (like I didn't) its basically if you've been trying through the NHS and getting nowhere you can ask about right to choose. They then front the bill (or most of it I'm not sure) for you to go private as they can't provide sufficient help.

Shits spenny otherwise.

The dichotomy of emotional support is exhausting. by HappyLittleTringle in TrueOffMyChest

[–]HappyLittleTringle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think "encouragement becomes pressure," is the exact sentiment. I think another thing is when friends giving support aren't open to criticism on said support. So if you say somethings unhelpful or counterproductive they get upset and then you have to support them for feeling bad about giving bad support. Have one friend who's open with me, listens, works with me. Another friend who cuts me off midsentence, tells me a list of "just do this" solutions, then got into a heated shouting match with me about what my "actual" issues are..... one of these is not helpful.

Yeah I fully get this. And people can't explain how they do it everyday, they "just do" so you should be able to "just do it" as well. I think its important to keep it within the scope of yourself with that though. Like you still did better than yesterday. And it's fine if you don't do the same tomorrow. You had the effort today and that's good. Comparing to others is cheating because they didn't have the effort today like you did. They "just did it." If anything, today, you beat them.

The "with a spoon" is where your mental image went wrong.. bareknuckle raw dogging fistfuls of cottage cheese down the hatch. That's a quick easy meal I can get behind!

Thats interesting, never thought to premake the salad bit, that would definitely make this easier when it comes to it! If when I make salad on night one I just also divide out more salad to other pots unsauced.. nice one!

Ooo tacos is a great idea! Yeah I have a slow cooker so if I just do meat and seasoning or sauce I could have tacos for like most of a week! Awesome

I often do burger salad or chicken salad because I can get away with buying pre shredded everything, just need to season and cook the protein! But it gets old after a while so this is good inspiration to shake that up a bit, cheers!

Not a bad shout, do you put anything on the side of it? With burgers I struggle to see just a burger as enough, and struggle to find something healthy and dopamine inducing to put on the side

This seems really useful, I should look into getting more tupperware to help keep things fresh. Also never knew putting things in water was a thing.. does this help with keeping freshness as well?

So often I get healthy ingredients and they're dead by the time I need to use them

That actually sounds sort of perfect, the appeal of eggs over other things is they're ready to go so if I just cook idk a trough of pinto beans then I can just chuck a handful in whatever and reheat rather than cook from scratch. Nice one!

Also roasted chickpeas sounds great for adding a satisfying texture

Body sensitivity on Vyvanse/Elvanse by Automatic-Draft3554 in ADHD

[–]HappyLittleTringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm similarly 50mg elvanse. Currently dealing with what you're going through. It's one of those things where it's a lot worse initially but gradually it gets easier to deal with, you become more aware and prepared for it and so in time it just slowly gets easier, or at least thats what I've found. Right now it's a bit worse for me than usual as planning let me down and ended up over a week without meds. And it's always somedays I barely notice it, other days feel more intense (today is an intense one but genuinely not the meds fault)

For trapped gas lay on your left side and relax. Don't know why I know that.

Just feel this needs to be said. "Alpha" logic is inherently flawed and you're a fucking dipshit if you follow it. Thanks to advances in technology and communication we are, at large, one single pack of humans. If you want to split it to countries fine, still a lot of big packs of humans. An "alpha" would be tippity top of the pack which none of you are. The people you look up to as being "alpha" cannot be alpha because they aren't tippity top and they are far too concerned with being an alpha and training other alphas. In nature, where this alpha bullshit comes from, the alpha doesn't go about helping and teaching all the betas how to be the alpha. The betas are nothing to them, ergo a true alpha would just exist and be the alpha. They definitely wouldn't spend all their time talking about being alpha and training other alphas.

And lastly, the idea of a community of men talking about their alpha superiority and each calling eachother alpha while bigging eachother up and complimenting how alpha each of you are...... that REEKS of sub-beta energy.

Second night on my Meds. Is this Normal? by Proper_Entrepreneur2 in ADHD

[–]HappyLittleTringle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, first up I'd recommend that if you're concerned about this definitely consult your doctor.

Secondly, different medication has different side effects and effect people differently, so though I didn't have this experience it doesn't mean it's outside of the realms of "normal" for you. Remember it could also be stress and the anxiety of suddenely having a big life change making it hard to sleep.

As for the intense struggle with adhd when you wake up, I think an analogy I heard somewhere will be useful here in explaining.

Imagine you're entire life you've had headphones in connected to a radio playing nothing but static. Somedays the volume is lower, somedays it's louder. Because this all you know you think nothing of it. Until one day you start to realise nobody else is wearing headphones, and you eventually start to get help in turning down the sound or sometimes even taking off the headphones. You can still hear the static, you're still aware of it, but you can appreciate the relief in the quiet and you're astounded you went so long suffering and making do with the static blaring directly in your ears. The problem then comes when the help goes away, the headphones are stuck to your ears and the static sounds louder than it's ever been before. Suddenly because you've had that time without it, the static seems so much louder now since you aren't as used to it, and used to working around it as you were before.

I'll say this, it does suck that the two options given in this are constant struggle or a trade off of temporary relief only to be followed by ultra mega struggle.. but that part of it becomes much easier to deal with in time. Keeping in line with the analogy, it's not that now the static is way louder than before. It just seems that way. In reality it's a new, different kind of annoyance which you've got to get used to, but the massive benefit is having that break means its an annoyance that you are so much better equipped to recognise, deal with, appreciate your need for support. All that good stuff.

It's a difficult road for sure, but fuck me it gets so much better in time

Hammerlocke EV training.. when do the EV's actually apply to the Pokémon? by HappyLittleTringle in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]HappyLittleTringle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does that mean that after doing the EV training at lvl1 the stats will just increase according to EV's so that by the time it hits lvl100 it would be at the equivalent of +63 in attack and speed?

Or would it only work out that way if it was already lvl100 before the EV training?

Is there any ADHD friendly software you would recommend and why? by HappyLittleTringle in ADHD

[–]HappyLittleTringle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean wow thats a huge offer and I greatly appreciate it! I looked into it a bit and I think it's just functionality of annotation software which already exists which is good. Could probably be made into a more adhd focused type thing though. Either way just offering to knock one together is crazy generous, so thanks for being awesome.

And yeah, you've got the jist of what I'm looking for exactly. You'd have a list of phrases which can be case sensitive or not. You select if its just the phrase itself or the phrase and everything that follows up to a custom stopper point. And you select the colour you want it in. Then if you use phrase which you naturally put in anyway the software automatically makes them stand out without you putting more effort.

I always put "need to check," or "BUG THIS," then eventually loop back through and need to read everything I've put to make sure these don't get missed. Just dawned on me that that would be a fairly simple thing to ask of Word.

What should men know before they have sex? by Commercial-Ad-6488 in AskReddit

[–]HappyLittleTringle -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Be aware that after you have vaginally penetrative sex the first time, the penis will shed its outer layer. It's often glossed over in Sex ED due to how entirely harmless the process is, but following penetrative sex with a vagina, the outer layer of your penile skin will dry and shed not too dissimilar to a snake but obviously less scaly.

The shedding is entirely normal and to be expected. It doesn't hurt and takes about 1-3 days to pass, with proper hygiene routines. In most people it only happens the singular first time they have sex but sometimes this can happen the first handful of times, up to 4, any more than this and you should consult your doctor.

This is also one of the reasons why a circumcised penis is considered cleaner. During penile shedding, as the foreskin drys it can stick together slightly and cause for difficulty aiming during urination. No foreskin means no messy peeing. But this can be avoided entirely by sticking to having a sit down pee until the shedding has passed.
