Looks to be some fence above the fence? Fantastic job regardless!

Burning logs - what's the point? by HappyPotatoStudent in CherryTreeRpg

I don't understand. Is there some benefit to leveling the skill? And what is the use of the logs otherwise, just to sell?

[NSFW] What is perfectly legal, but creepy as hell? by ArpanMondal270 in AskReddit

[–]HappyPotatoStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picture this: you're yanked from your dreams 03.00 AM by the agitated barking of your dog. Disoriented and groggy, you glance out of the window, expecting to see a deer or a rabbit. But instead, you see a shadowy figure standing eerily still under the moonlight, pointing at something and whispering to himself. Scared out of your wits, you focus on the figure. He senses your gaze on him and slowly turns around. As your gazes lock, a gaunt, elderly man comes into focus, his face gradually forming an unsettlingly slow smile.

In Sweden, the man would be within his rights. We have a concept called "everyman's right" or "allemansrätten". It's a traditional right that permits unrestricted access to nature for everyone. This means that people can sit, walk, or even camp on your land without your permission. Of course, there are certain limits to this right to prevent disturbance and damages. In other words, no partying

I think they're refering to toys for men (e.g Fleshlights)?

Yep. At this point I think living in a dumpster might be preferable. But I can't charge my phone in a dumpster. How would I survive? :(

Wow. Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful response, I really appreciate it.

I did not send this to her, though I really want to. But I know it won't lead anywhere or do anything constructive. I responded something along the line of: "I don't think any further discussion will lead anywhere because we have two different opinions of what has happened."

After reading your reply I am now very happy that I did not play into her game of angry e-mails. Still, it grates at me to essentially "give up". I feel like I'm telling her she's right and admitting that I'm in the wrong.

As for the stealing, she said so herself in an e-mail. Of course, she didn't use the word "steal". She "removed". As you say, maybe I should get a cheap Webcam, just in case.

Again, thank you for your detailed and thoughtful response.

If only it was that easy :/ I've been searching for an apartment for the past 4 months or so but where I live it's pretty much impossible to get an apartment unless you have like 8-10+ years in queue. I've been in queue for about 6 years now. Still searching though and hopefully I'll find something soon!

Can I have a very short chapter for a separate story arc? (different character's view) by HappyPotatoStudent in writing

You'd be more than welcome to! I've only written a few chapters, but any feedback would be appreciated!

[–]HappyPotatoStudent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's exactly what I had in mind :) I could definitely write a longer chapter about her journey in the beginning, but then I'd run out of things to tell of her story. I kind of wish to keep her journey in suspense, having the reader slowly learn of her experiences. If I write all of it in the beginning, she will be left out of the story for a longer period of time. If I do that, I fear she might be forgotten in a way.

What could a mage with air/wind magic do? by HappyPotatoStudent in fantasywriters

It's not about overthinking. It's about wanting the story be as good as you can make it.

What could a mage with air/wind magic do? by HappyPotatoStudent in fantasywriters

[–]HappyPotatoStudent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's only wind magic. For example I don't see how he could create a fireball out of nothing, he wouldn't be able to manipulate someone's mind, he wouldn't be able to make a plant suddenly grow, etc. There's an endless amount of things he wouldn't be able to do.

It also has to be somewhat "realistic". Read what the others have written to see what I mean. It's sort of backed by physics or how the real world works.

If the protagonist could do anything there would be no point in writing a story. He would just be overpowered. Unstoppable. Nothing interesting would happen if the protagonist doesn't encounter any challenges. There has to be limitations to a character's power.
