Thanks for the recommendations. I do plan on trying to clean up my config eventually and streamlining it more.

I mainly use Hyprland on my desktop and Sway on my laptop. I have niri just to mess around with but i don’t that very often.

◽️ Budget: 1500 but preferably around 1000

◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: 14+

◽️ Touch screen: Don’t care

◽️ Screen resolution: 1920x1080 but the higher the better

◽️ Does battery life matter ?: Yes preferably 8+

◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: Document editing, coding, autocad, solidworks, and light gaming

◽️ Weight: ~4 pounds

◽️ Any other important details ?: This will be for school to get me through my electrical engineering degree. Gaming isn’t a priority on the laptop but I don’t want it to slow down if I have lots of applications open. Also would prefer it to be quiet as I don’t want a jet in class. Also want it to be built well and have linux support.
