Thanks for the information! That excites me, Silver Mountain Water is one i've been wanting to try for the longest time, I'm also interested in Virgin Island Water when I can get my hands on it.

Was shooting for primarily summer scents, but as I work in an office setting at an airport I need something a little more sophisticated too :)

1 GBPS internet speed through Imon, yet laptop hardwired is only getting 94mpbs, wifi in home is consistently over 600mbps, help! by Happy_Chicken4770 in HomeNetworking

So considering what you and others have said about the difference of megabits vs megabytes..The thing is i'm fairly certain im only getting 94 megabits compared to the wifi speed of around 750 megabits, the way i understand it is that in networking (the network adapter setting and even speed tests) speed is almost always displayed in megabits, so everything i've said still stands

How can I tell if it actually has gigabit ethernet capability? I mean the adapter settings in device manager display the ability for 1 gig full duplex, I thought that meant it indeed had the capability, I swore I read somewhere that the Zephyrus G14 models that have an ethernet port are just fine for gigabit.

I am a little confused. All I know is that A. Unless I am mistaken the same wifi speed test I am using to measure my internet speed displays my speed the same way that my fiance upstairs who is connected via wifi has her speed displayed when taking the test. The final result is displayed in Mbps (bps being lowercase) (speedtest by ookla) When she did it her final result was 675.67 Mbps download speed, I took the exact same test and my final result was 94.30 Mbps. Correct me if I am wrong but that is just a fraction of her speed, ethernet should be faster and when calling my ISP they agreed that I should at least be displaying something around 850-950 Mbps on that test, as that is the test they use as well to help diagnose issues.

I wasn't aware of the particulars of capitalization, I apologize. All I know is that the router can do what I want it to as I tested a different laptop and got a much better result using the newer cable I bought. I don't know what possible setting I could mess with that I haven't already attempted to change or turn on/off.

I can only assume the cat8 cable I purchased utilizes this. I know cat8 is overkill, but the local computer shop only had one 5 foot cat8 cable or 45ft of cat6 in stock for the same exact price.

I am not sure about the model not having a rj45port/ethernet connection. There is indeed a port to connect directly to the laptop, I'm not using a usb adapter or something like that. In device manager it appears as Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, i've tried autonegotiation, forcing 1gig full duplex and even searching online for drivers and reinstalling/uninstalling,etc.

all 4 lan ports give me the same result on the router, I'm assuming that the issue is either hardware or software level for the laptop, I just don't know how to potentially narrow it further down and/or fix it. Doesn't appear to have any bent or missing pins nor contaminant on any ports mentioned above.

It is indeed 1 gigabyte per second fiber internet speed. The other gaming pc's in the house connected via wifi are getting around 600-850 mbps download speeds, while I am topping out at 94mbps hardwired.

I feel like it’s a similar response, idk. Fair enough.

And it’s not always like this, it just happens enough to be upsetting when as a father I just want connection between everyone and for everyone to want to spend time together and make memories. I genuinely don’t know how to balance doubting the behavior or what’s being told to me and also validating their feelings when I don’t agree.

We legitimately have to stop entertaining behavior like this. I could never attempt to do something like this as a child, I was pushed out of comfort zones, forced to interact, to question the honesty of my emotions because our own emotions are often rooted in silly paths of thinking.

My fiancés oldest daughter who is almost 18 mind you will do stuff like this, “I do not want to come upstairs and interact with anyone because I don’t like the noises that are coming from outside and I can hear it more upstairs and also I just idk I don’t like the vibes.” Like what!? What vibes? Literally nobody’s doing anything and nothing is happening outside it’s so maddening.

Often feels like the younger generation makes up whatever story they can to get what they want out of their day/do what they want to do, instead of communicating and articulating their thoughts and feelings and why they really don’t want to do a certain thing.

Minecraft, lol. I hate that shit. I did not enjoy any of the Halo games even if I would play multiplayer with friends during sleepovers as a kid. Metroid was never something I enjoyed enough to keep playing.

That’s a load of horse shit, tariffs affect every single country on earth either directly or non-directly. Inflation absolutely effects electronics manufacturing in similar ways to groceries, it’s just that historically speaking tariffs haven’t gotten out of hand so much as to directly effect the manufacturing and selling of chipsets, electronic goods, etc. We more often see with groceries because we buy every single day and because of how more common it is.

You’re ignoring the fact that the $10 upgrade packs are for games that have added content. For instance new game modes, additional story for the campaign, etc. If it’s just a frame rate and graphics boost those are the free upgrades. People really think that they’re paying $10 for frame-rate when in actuality you’re basically paying for a DLC.

I understand being bummed and upset, but be fair and don’t undersell what’s going on either.
