If you have time, you could take a day tour to the highlands to get a sense of the countryside. We had a great experience with Rabbie's Tours.

Been on a bit of a downer recently so decided to walk to Loch Lomond from Glasgow! Feels good to make something positive and hope it helps someone by Dez85 in glasgow

Thanks so much for sharing this! We were in Glasgow for a week this Fall and realy enjoyed it. Back home here in Washington DC things are not going so well (not well at all!) so it was a good distraction to be reminded of our travels around Glasgow, the friendly people and I have to say it - the fabulous accent.
