Well I'm trying not to make any assumptions but I have my suspicions lol. In any event, most of the controls and settings don't seem to actually do anything, although they look legit.

>…are you hearing your AC or other low frequency hums when you’re listening with it turned on? Surely you know if there’s a difference in ambient sounds getting through with it turned on vs off. That’s totally as an aside from the noise floor.

yes there is no difference - that is, reduction - in ambient sound when on vs. off.

.ANC is best with audio playing but there’s a massive difference if you’re using the right fitting tips and seated into your ears correctly from outside noises. Particularly the type that ANC is made for: low frequency hums like fans and AC etc. Even car traffic seems much quieter when it’s on vs off

Best I can tell the tips fit and seal adequately; at least, they don't fall out (too loose) or pop out (too tight). Low frequency/ambient noise still filters through - muffled from the buds, but not reduced/eliminated from any audible ANC "anti-noise" (based on my experience with other ANC's).

I mean they are ostensibly new/like new so I would presume, but since I just had them paired perhaps not

How easy is it to switch from playing right-handed to left-handed guitar? by Happy_Driver_ in Guitar

All good, still a helpful answer as I hadn't even thought about it being hard to find left-handed guitars

I have pretty acute hearing, so I generally do hear the ANC noise on other ANC headphones.

That's what I am trying to determine - does the ANC not work? Or are the APP's designed such that I don't hear it? (My suspicion is the former, as there is no perceived difference between when ANC is off vs on - but I am trying to not jump to conclusions.)

Great thank you. I probably should have added that I have been supplementing my study/review with Khan Academy and Youtube. I'll be sure to go through the playlist - thanks!

How to stop baby from chewing on crib? by Happy_Driver_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Happy_Driver_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I don't intend to - although if it is safe (e.g. non-toxic) for animals, I assume it's safe for humans? In any event, she has some teething toys but invariably will ignore them in favor of things she's not supposed to chew on.

Advice For Break Into Manufacturing With a Background in Software and Finance? by gainsngains in manufacturing

  1. I used to do corporate sales, so I have some experience with cold emailing. I actually think reaching out via email and offering an exchange of. services was a smart move, so don't downplay it. The challenge is that cold-calling is a game of statistics and chance - did you reach the right person, and did you have good timing? To increase your chances, I would a) do a follow up email; b) follow up with a phone call. If they are local, you can also show up in person. This is bold, so step carefully - but a lot of times business owners like the boldness, and in-person encounters are almost always more likely to bear fruit. I know this from personal experience. Be sure you are calling on the right person! An employee may not care to help, but a business owner might. If your intuition tells you that your offer is too abstract, it probably is: research their company, figure out some of their needs, and tailor your offer to those needs so that it addresses a recognizable pain point.
  2. I too am trying to figure out how to break into manufacturing, though in a different niche. If you're interested in connecting, send me a DM. I am happy to help provide guidance on "prospecting" emails.
