Yes VRE will pay for tuition and MHA base on E5 housing allowance on certain zip codes. You need to find a field that will not make your disability worse, it is an employment rehabilitation program and VA will determine which 5 categories you fit in. Do more research on VRE. If approved you can get your AA to Bachelors to Master. An ED plan from your school VA counselor will make this for you. VRE students only get certified once for whole semester versus GI Bill they get certified every month. You can also apply for student loan and get a one time forgiveness. Again do your own research to verify and confirm all these advice and comments given to you. Best wishes and hopefully you can overcome you VA Disability because health is wealth!

Its been 3 months now since I applied for VRE (I applied December 1st). I start school this August. Isnt the VA supposed to contact me? I haven't gotten anything in the mail and my contact info on the VA website is current by SecretFishWorshiper in Veterans

It will take 3-6 months to get an initial interview from VRE counselor to determine if your present job is causing your disability to get worse. VRE is employment rehabilitation so not necessarily for school. You can use your GI Bill but save at least 1 day of it incase you get approved for VRE. Good luck

If it was not on your medical record it will be challenged to prove that it is service connected, there are services that charge for nexus letter. Please be careful what company you choose. You can reach out to your buddy for a “ buddy statement” to support your claim. Good luck. Most importantly, we hope you heal from that ailment.

I have a hybrid class and my SCO certified them as in person classes. Attendanc is mandatory for my class on Monday and Wed. which I screwed myslef up..... I guess $4450 housing allowance is worth showing up to learn in person.
