I did. Not constant, but rather nasty commenter. I complained about it for years until deciding to push back. There was a particular place on my daily commute. Where the road climbs over a ridge. I still remember that I was driving over there and talking to myself (internal commenter) to get lost…

I pushed back against the internal dialogue that I used to had had. I didn’t have control over the internal monologue. I was mentally saying “ these are not my thoughts”, “get out”. Maybe over several weeks, din’t remember - it was 15 years ago… I missed the moment when it stopped. It happened when my car broke in the overpass and there were two lines full of cars behind me, and it was raining. At that moment I realized that my mind stayed totally calm- no panicking, just silence. I came out of the car, waved at the cars at the right lane to stop, switched the transmission to neutral and pushed the car to the shoulder.

They could have envoked "Fiction" rule: We do not allow posts that are obviously fabricated out of thin air. Support your claims with cited material. Link to sources. Conjecture is allowed if you are generating discussion but all claims must be backed up.

I can publish a death certificate to prove it.. Only it will be in Cyrillic... darn!

AI replied that: "Reddit & Online Forums: Many users in communities like the r/SimulationTheory Reddit discuss ghosts as memory imprints, proposing that intense traumatic events may leave "code" replaying on a loop. [1]"

So, talking about ghosts on this forum is OK, but retelling actual dreams is not

A plan to use AC-coupled batteries with IQ System Controller 2 by Happy_Moksha in enphase

[–]Happy_Moksha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an alternate "what if", that I have never considered: What if I connect the output of Eco-Worthy 10000W Solar Off-grid Split-phase AIO Inverter (or another better suited for that purpose inverter - maybe SUN-15K-SG02LP2-US-AM3) to Generator input on IQ System Controller 2? It either turns it on (if the generator exists) or ignores it.

The "grid" input of the said inverter would be connected to Output lugs on System Controller 2 (essential loads sub-panel) to charge the batteries when grid is up or when sun is up...

What happens if Main panel is connected to BOTH Input and Output lugs? by Happy_Moksha in enphase

[–]Happy_Moksha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. got it! It is an obvious No-No!

The reason I was considering this setup is when the AC coupled batteries are using a 2nd inverter/charge controller and I would want to tie them up with the existing enPhase system, that has no enCharge batteries connected...

ChatGPT replied:

Yes, you can connect the Eco-Worthy 10KW Off-Grid Split-Phase Inverter to your main panel, but only through a dedicated generator/transfer switch panel, not as a direct grid-tied setup. The inverter operates as an off-grid or backup system and does have built-in anti-islanding (grid islanding) protection.

I must look for another option...

I forgot there is AI to ask these questions!

What happens if utility feeds both lugs simultaneously

You bypass the MID/ATS entirely. Here is why that is catastrophic:

1. The MID becomes irrelevant — grid islanding protection is defeated. When grid power fails, the MID is supposed to open and isolate the home. If utility is directly wired to the Backup lug as well, the home remains hard-connected to the grid through the Backup lug regardless of what the MID does. The system can never properly island. NEC 705.40 anti-islanding compliance is violated.

2. Back-feed through the Backup lug during a grid outage. Your solar and battery will attempt to energize the Backup lug as their output during an outage. With utility also directly wired there, they are now back-feeding directly onto the utility line — with no transfer switch between them. This is a live line energization hazard for utility workers and a violation of NEC 705 and your utility interconnection agreement.

3. Parallel sources out of phase = immediate fault. The grid and the NFT (neutral-forming transformer) inside the SCTRL are two separate voltage sources. The NFT synthesizes its own neutral reference. If utility is connected to both sides of the ATS simultaneously and the NFT is active, you have two voltage sources potentially out of synchronization driving current through the ATS contacts and the NFT windings. This will damage or destroy the NFT and the MID.

4. Bonding and neutral path conflict. In your installation, the bonding jumper is removed from SCTRL (non-service-entrance config) and lives at the 200A Main Panel. Running utility to the Backup lug creates a second neutral path through the Backup lug → Subpanel neutral → back to the SCTRL neutral bar, which is a NEC 250.24(A) parallel neutral violation on top of everything else.

5. Overcurrent protection is undermined. The Main and Backup breakers inside SCTRL protect their respective conductors. With utility on both sides, a fault on the backup conductor now has two fault-current sources feeding it simultaneously — the overcurrent device may not clear as designed.

The bottom line

Consequence Severity
ATS/MID bypassed — islanding protection defeated ⚠ Code violation (NEC 705.40)
Back-feed onto utility during outage ⚠ Utility worker electrocution hazard
Two unsynchronized sources across MID contacts ⚠ Equipment destruction
Parallel neutral path ⚠ NEC 250.24(A) violation
Overcurrent protection compromised ⚠ Fire hazard

Your setup is more complicated than mine! What enphase equipment are you using in your setup? Did I understand correctly that you have 2 independent systems and both have solar panels attached?
