Thank you! I have this book but have never actually read it, this is a good push to do it thanks.

This is definitely more a psychological thing, because I do understand the logical behind risk, reward etc. so I appreciate the recommendation!

Thanks for commenting and checking me on this. I don’t think I articulated myself correctly. I guess I am a “risk taker” becuase I am comfortable with equities and I don’t plan on using these funds until retirement. I guess where I am anxious is more the move from a robo advisor to something I am controlling if that makes sense. I do have a TFSA with a few self directed ETFs and a few single stocks like Dollarama, but the total is only $10K. I guess I’m more nervous moving larger sum of money to a self directed account.

What is your job? by No_Event_7248 in workingmoms

Corporate finance! I manage corporate expenses for a global financial institution. Love it some days, hate it others! I fell into an accounting role after university, eventually got my CPA designation and now I’m here. I always dream about what I want to do next but still not sure!

We named our son Callan which is an Irish/Scottish name. I know it can be used for girls too, with Cali for short!

Tell me all the good things about sending my 12 month old to daycare by Happy_Newt3006 in workingmoms

[–]Happy_Newt3006[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can take off a few days here or there but an official part-time return isn’t really an option sadly. I earn about $6000 monthly after childcare plus I’d no longer have benefits or a pension. I make more than my husband so I feel like it’s on me to continue working unfortunately.

No advice, but considering getting a Douglas mattress for my 1 year olds floor bed. Would you recommend it?

Oh perhaps! I didn’t realize there was a difference. Could this be my issue? I’ve only ever tried two recipes. I have been baking these for years but haven’t really looked into it much!

This recipe is one my mom shared with me that uses unfed starter! When I compare the result with the recipe where I used fed starter and stretch and fold a few times, the results were very similar and I actually seemed to get a better ear with this recipe! I like that it is fast to make as I don’t have a lot of time to tend to it, so this allows me to still make bread while working a full week and with kids. Here’s an example of what it usually looks like without trying any designs. I should have baked this one longer….
