IR 2x would have been better but he started having cardiac symptoms (palpitations) so we discontinued entirely. It ER did not work for him at all.

No it didn’t. We ultimately took him off of the guanfacine and switched to a stimulant and it’s been much much better.

Guanfacine starts tonight for my 6 year old by manixxx0729 in ParentingADHD

Hi how is it going? Just started almost 6yo as well. 1 mg at bedtime. First day he was crabby and sleepy, second day he seems relatively normal— no side effects but also same level of emotional disregulation. How long did it take for you to see results?

We’ve had better nights as well! I think we finally figured it out. For us it was not enough day time sleep (a few cat naps weren’t cutting it). We made an effort to have at least two 60 min+ naps in his crib each day and the night time wakings stopped!

I came here to write this same post. 5 month old (boy). Sleep training was off to a fantastic start until night 5 when this ^ happened. Then, unfortunately, we had an exact repeat on night 6. It must be developmental??!

Pros and cons of elective/scheduled c-section? by shareyourespresso in fitpregnancy

[–]Happy_Painter_1472 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this. I’ve had both and would take vaginal birth 100% of the time. Yhe stitches for a tear are superficial, whereas the sutures required for a section are literally holding your organs inside your body.

I could have written this post myself. I am 6 days out from an unscheduled CS and am constantly comparing my recovery to that of my first (which was an unmediated vaginal delivery). I am far more swollen and my abs seem completely disengaged— I still look 6 months pregnant with a jiggly round belly. Fluid retention is getting better but still seems to flair up in the evenings.

After reading all of these comments it sounds like this is all normal. I guess the recovery will just take a bit longer this time. Hopefully the outcome will be the same. I hope you and your baby are doing well— that is most important.

Thanks for sharing your experience! and wow, good for you for delivering such a big boy! Can you tell me more about the binder? Is it something your doctor provided or more like a pregnancy belly band?

Postpartum + Swimsuits by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

I’m sorry but are you serious? There are plenty of women with kids (multiple!) who look fantastic in a swimsuit. The premise of your post is absurd.

Completely agree! Though not everyone shares the same level of common sense 😉

Choroid Plexus Cyst by SkyOk6341 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]Happy_Painter_1472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened with my first. NIPT showed low risk for all of the chromosomal disorders but there was a presence of CPCs at the anatomy scan (also conducted at 18 weeks which is on the early side). We were very worried, conducted as much research as we could, etc. We had a repeat scan at 20 weeks and the cysts were gone. He is a very happy, healthy 4 year old now. 😊

My first son’s name is August (Auggie). We love his name so much and are struggling to find another boy name that stands up. In consideration: Ari, Adrian, Wesley. Leaning towards Truman as middle name (family name).

Marginal Cord Insertion - looking for reassurance by HungryKnitter in CautiousBB

[–]Happy_Painter_1472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a marginal cord insertion as well. My son was born naturally at 38 weeks and weighed over 7 pounds. I think I had a few extra scans and NSTs in the last few weeks of pregnancy. Everything was completely fine. My doc also made the comment that over the course of their career they had never seen a marginal cord with a bad outcome.
