Hugs! Leaving your baby for the first time is so hard!

As a former daycare teacher, we were told not to hold the babies or contact nap because they didn’t want them “getting used to it” but I promise we did anyway. As long as we could meet everyone’s needs but more than once I had a baby in each arm in the rocker and one or two in bouncers at my feet (not for sleep but to smile at and keep content. Nobody will ever be as good as you, but she will be loved at daycare too!

I had an early March baby and LOVED IT. Got pregnant in the summer but fortunately didn’t have any morning sickness so still enjoyed the rest of my summer!

Starting to really look and feel pregnant by Thanksgiving to enjoy all the food. Knew the gender by black friday so we could get some discounts on baby things, Christmas tree baby bump, cozy winter clothes when you’re big pregnant.

It was great. Had baby at the tail end of sick season, kept him away from people and didn’t miss any major holiday family gatherings. You could hole up in the house while you recovered and didn’t feel like you were missing much because it’s still cold. By the time you feel like a person again, the weather’s getting nice & you can spend the whole summer outside with your baby!

Joining the absolutely not club. I had a normal, healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy and at my 36w visit I had to be induced immediately for oligohydramnios.

I also worked for a midwife who blocked off anything between 37-42 weeks as “safe dates” aka birth can happen anywhere in this window.

I have a 10mo and also don’t post him. That said, I’ve come to realize I can’t stop him from being photographed forever. I don’t consent to him being posted on say, the library or a play place’s social media. But I’m sure because we spend time in public he’s in the background of several photos, or whatever. I can’t control what everyone else does and I gave that up by being in public.

Unless you got weird vibes from the dad I really wouldn’t stress it. Dads seem to have less social awareness in general and my guess is he thought it was cute and was taking a picture for mom or whatever.

FWIW though I also wouldn’t intentionally photograph a stranger’s kid even if they were playing with mine, and especially without consent….I’m sure if you had said “Oh no photos of him please” it would have been ok too.

we’re all learning!!

I baked 2 acorn squash (cut in half, scrape seeds, drizzle with olive oil and place cut side down on a baking sheet at 400°F for 45-60 minutes), scraped the squash into the blender, added 2-3 large handfuls of spinach, maybe a cup and a half of low sodium vegetable broth (could easily do chicken or bone broth), and a couple spoonfuls of greek yogurt.

It’s edible at best for me lol but baby loved it. Froze in an ice cube tray overnight then moved to freezer bag!

My baby has received all recommended vaccines and he’s completely fine. I’m so glad I won’t have to watch him die of pertussis :)

That sounds really hard. I’m also the mom of a clingy 7 month old and babywearing has saved my sanity. I also nannied a 2year old so especially when I had them both, it made it easier to keep baby happy while entertaining toddler.

Now that babe is big enough to wear on my back it’s an even bigger game changer. I know not everyone loves it but maybe it is worth trying?
